Re: 50% Obscured and Cover

Right, but the reason the cover rule exists like it does is to balance out how vehicles shoot and get shot at in 8th.

Re: Drone unit coherency.

Check out the rules for drones in your index. It tells you how they are set up. When you set up (through normal deployment or deepstrike) a unit that has purchased drones, you set those drones up along with the unit in coherency. From that point on the drones act as a different unit. Think of it as ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Yeah, all shuriken weapons get the reroll. It's the leadership bonus that only applies to Aspect Warriors. As an aside: do you feel the sub-faction rules are intended to create more competitive, tactical, or optimised army builds, or do they seem to be little rewards for building a fluff based army...

Re: 50% Obscured and Cover

I think we all can agree that the cover rule for vehicles is stupid. My gaming group plays a home rule in which if the vehicle is 50% covered have cover. Easy. Step 1: Is the vehicle touching the terrain? Yes or No? If yes, then move to step two. If no, then no cover. Step 2: Is the vehicle 50% obs...

The write up makes it seem like any shuriken weapons get the rule.

Re: 50% Obscured and Cover

They did an FAQ on this. Page 248 – Ruins Change the first paragraph of rules text to read: ‘Unless they can Fly, Vehicles, Monsters, Cavalry and Bikers can only be set up or end their move on the ground floor of ruins.’ Change the third paragraph of rules text to read:‘Infantry units that are entir...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Here's a leaked list of the Eldar Craftworld Attributes.

https://i.imgur.com/Zmx3YMD.jpg

Apparently it showed up on Facebook a couple of days ago, and confirmed two of the five sept rules already. Grain of salt and all that though.

I wonder if T'au will get the same thing.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I fear for the purist, like someone says I must add a color iI don't like to my minis, to "correctly" represent a Sept... Most players do not care that your army color theme doesn't match your minis. The problem comes from if you have two or more septs in a list and you have the same colo...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Well they said ten codexes before the end of the year, and IIRC there have only been eight released so far. So there's going to be at most two more. So there's a chance! I'm betting that we will get ours right before christmas. T'au is a popular army and releasing the codex before Christmas would be...

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Is that value for points realistically happening with Crisis Suits given their average Ballistic Skill and their cost? It seems to me that mixing weapons would be good if suits cost 15-20 points less per model or they had 3+ Ballistic Skill -- even an extra wound. Perhaps there is merit for an all-...

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

It depends on how you plan on building your list. The Crisis Suit is meant to plug a hole in your army. To fill a weapon niche you are lacking or to fill a special position that you might need like deepstriking melta for hard to reach tanks, or deepstriking plasma for TEQ. Spreading out the crisis s...

Re: How are you liking the new addition compared to 7th,6th,5th, and 4th

As far as rules go, they are super easy to pick up and to understand. There's little in the way of rules modifying rules modifying rules that makes death stars a thing, which is great for the health of the game. The extra layer of strategy added with Stratagems was an excellent addition to the game....

Re: Chapter Approved snippets - Matched Play changes!

People dislike FLG and the ITC because they often ruled correctly on rules that need to be FAQ'd back when FAQs were almost non-existent. People tend to get upset when their Commander suit doesn't allow their entire army to hit on the rear armor of a baneblade. Otherwise their hate is unfounded. IT...

Re: Gave suggestions to GW re. T'au

Markerlights - but we have, on average, stronger weapons than most other armies. The difference is that our shooting is usually not as good. Markerlights help to make up for that. This is why Commander spam is currently popular. All of the strong weapons, with none of the accuracy problems. Seeker M...

Re: RAW, Mont'Ka and heavy weapons.

It says, "advance and shoot as if you hadn't moved," not "advance and shoot as if you hadn't advanced." So, feel free to move and shoot those Heavy weapons! I have a to agree. A FAQ would clear it up, but consider this. You roll for advance when you decide to move your unit. So ...

Re: 8th ed transports, EWO, and deployment

My ruling I say that the transports themselves and any units they carry count as a single drop therefore they are a single unit for purposes of total number of units set up. Correct. The benefit you get from piling troops into a single transport (less drops, higher chance you go first) also gives y...
