Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Seriously, I wouldn't really worry about it. :) We have limited information, and we still don't know what kinds of stratagems, relics, auras, buffs, and warlord traits we'll have available. We also don't know if there might be new units, points decreases, or changed wargear that could help. I under...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

As much as you want to defend this crappy tax that we have. Look at other armies example Dark Angels reroll failed misses and wounds of 1 within 6 inches of most of their HQ's all game. No need for silly hitting on 4's maybe give you a buff, oh then toss a 1CP stratagem on it to make it actually a ...

Re: Hammerheads, Broadsides, and Tau Design Features, oh my!

I so badly BADLY want the HRR Broadside to be a powerhouse unit. They are *the* iconic T'au unit/weapon to me and always have been since launch. The idea of them is so cool and the fact that rail weapons are *ours* and no one elses, and the fact they are a nice balance of sci-fi-but-almost-current-t...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

It looks a little Tau-ish but it has rivets, or it looks a little Imperial-ish but is a little too curvy. Sound familiar? My guess is it's something like the Redemptor Dreadnought or Repulsor Tank, a Primaris machine that seems to have a little Tau inspiration. Theres quite a bit of T'au inspiratio...

Re: The Greater Good is more like the Slightly More Alright these days

There's a rumour that there's going to be a battle for mars box with the necrons and skitarii, mostly fuelled by the new knight and kryptek that combined with the regimental standard my guess is we're next followed by necrons and ad mech The Mechanicum are just causing trouble for everyone now aren...

Re: The Greater Good is more like the Slightly More Alright these days

May I request a source for this statement? I believe it's more of an estimation, because the practicalities of mass producing a book in multiple languages mean that it needs to be finished months in advance of release so that it can be proof read, translated and sent to printers to get enough copie...

Re: Burst cannon for Fusion blaster for stealth suits

That's kind of a waste of money compared to just buying some magnets... It's like, £12:50 for another set, some people might value their time over the messing around of magnetising and painting extra parts, then hoping they don't go missing. I see people magnetising the arms on whole squads of fire...

Loving the pose on the left hand commander, might have to do something similar with my next one.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

imo, tau need to hit on a 3+ normally with a reward for the markerlights giving you a 2+ or erasing a penalties for heavy movement or assault advancing modifiers to be competitive. We have very little melee ability, so we need to keep our mobility. Even the guard has bullgryns who are just about be...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the concept of Markerlights (i.e. a weapon that exists just to give buffs to other weapons), as proven by 3rd-7th edition Tau. The one thing everyone can agree on is that the implementation of Markerlights in 8th is problematic And also the fact that our guns ...

Re: Magnets- when to do on timeline of painting.

I have finally decided that 3mm diametre x 1mm are the way to go, strong, not fiddly and not too big. I was doing some magnetising myself last night. Just Crisis suits currently, not much left to do now, just half of the weapons really! It's kind of dull, but not nearly as stressful as you'd think o...

Swinging for the fences here ladies and gents, there's going to be a lot of lots points for things being here that aren't included, but hey, I had fun! I also did no math at all with regards to points changes, just picked numbers out of the air ;) Markerlight Table Changes - (1pt per correct change/...

Re: Tau A.I. and engram nuerochips

I've been considering coming up with an AI commander for my own force too. I love the idea (and stole it from Ob'Lotai) It just strikes me as something that the T'au should be doing all over the shop. Never mind putting commanders in stasis. AI them and have 100 Farsights, or 100 Shadowsuns all acti...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

For someone who really didn't play 7th ed. 40k, barring some Kill Team, were Tau weapons much stronger overall or what was the major difference? Reliable plasma and pulse weapons being able to glance vehicles? Previously, T'au have generally been 'hit and miss' with the shooting, but when they do h...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Assuming they address our weapons now being somewhat limp compared to other armies since the power bump most got in 8th, it would be very interesting if our flamers took a leaf from the yvahra and became 'plasma flamers'. It would be a nice way of sidestepping the 4+ BS for some of our units without...

Removed the dry brushed OSL on the flat panels as per feedback I got from a couple of sources. I've kept the inner disc glow and added some gun drones; https://i.imgur.com/8GnADeo.jpg https://i.imgur.com/zQ1B9Pi.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kvrjtTH.jpg Feedback always appreciated.
