Re: Shield Drone vs Heavy Bolter Hellfire command

So potentially 4 drones to tank a railgun hit and 3 for a single destroyer missile?

Re: Shield Drone vs Heavy Bolter Hellfire command

Exactly. "Loosing a wound" = damage got dealt. After saves, after rolling for the amount of damage, after FnP like effects. It's something completely different than what they otherwise mean when talking about wounds when talking about attacks. Anyway, that wasn't the problem here so it's ...

Re: Tiger Shark || AX-1-0

I got a Tiger shark second hand from a guy who had lost the instructions it is pretty daunting trying to build this with no instructions i am slowly struggling through it. I contacted forgeworld but since the guy won't give me his product number i can't get the instructions from them. Does anyone b...

Re: Shield Drone vs Heavy Bolter Hellfire command

I've always thought that the additional mortal wounds on the railgun have to be allocated separately. As they are separate (mortal) wounds you still have to allocate them, allowing saviour protocols on each separate (mortal) wound If that is the case, then my interpretation is completely out the wi...

Re: Shield Drone vs Heavy Bolter Hellfire command

The bit I'm struggling with here is that it seems to be 1 hit that does D3 Mortal wounds as the damage, in the same way that a railgun can do mortal wounds as part of it's damage, which can be soaked by a single SP.

Shield Drone vs Heavy Bolter Hellfire command

So, pretty interesting discussion on rules going on over at the Tau sub-reddit, thought I'd bring it here as there tends to be a bit better and more civilised discussion here; Marine Dev squad uses signum to fire a heavy bolter on 2+. Marine spends 1 command point to fire a hellfire round. Hellfire ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

It's fun how different are the opinions of what is good or not. For example, yesterday I played against Space Marines and tried out the XV8 flamer unit. I rolled 35 dice against his Devastator squad, 23 wounded, did 1 damage.   Will try them once again against Nids, but ...

Re: Planet Strike

Don't forget that anything with the Infantry or Fly keywords can deep strike at 6 inches in a Planetstrike games as the attacker. Think about this for a moment. 6 inch deepstriking Breachers. 6 inch deepstriking Ghostkeels. Basically everything we have on our list has a 6 inch deepstrike. So basica...

Aaah, I wondered what they were.

I take it they are just assigned to membership groups and appear if you happen to be invited to one?

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

AM is Astra Militarum, not AdMech. It's a post on the internet, it's perfectly feasible that someone shortened Ad Mech to AM without thinking about it, I've seen people do far worse to general languages that have actual rules, not just assumed shorthand. The rest of the release schedule he was spot...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I'm still hopeful that the rumour holds and we get Tau after AdMech. I mean, the abbreviation was Tau/AM so its still very feasible to be true, especially since the guy was spot on with the rest of the release schedule. I'm just itching to see what kinds of changes they have made and see if Lady wha...

Re: Crisis of faith. Red blood?

Apparently it's more efficient than hemoglobin (the iron-based compound that makes mammal blood red) in cold or low-oxygen environments, That doesn't sound great for the Tau then, being planes-dwellers from what has always sounded like a temperate/relatively warm climate (which the original Tau col...

Re: Crisis of faith. Red blood?

his graphic on how cooper based blood can carry oxygen. This of course explains how their blood would be blue. Here's a video: The Blue Blood Horseshoe Crab I find this very interesting, (also a little confusing) as copper, when it bonds with oxygen generally takes on a Black or Red colouration. Pe...

Re: Firesight Marksman Vs Pathfinders.

You could always go for a fireblade (or throw one in as well as the firesight)? He can't be targetted if there are other units between him/the enemy (which there should be) and if you're doing less deepstrike and have plenty of drones (which it sounds like you do) his other abilities will come in VE...

Re: Let's Contact GW! (Round 2)

I'm fine with ours just getting it on a 6 since we have the higher str weapon. We just need a way to deal with conscripts in a tournament setting without also nerfing our other games. Picking off the Commisars and other buffing chars would be a huge help. I'm fairly certain they want to do somethin...

Re: Chapter Approved snippets - Matched Play changes!

Whilst I don't subscribe to the anti frontline gaming paranoia about tau By this I am assuming you mean people think that Frontline gaming hate the Tau? I didn't know that this was a widespread thing, but I have got the distinct impression from their podcasts that they are not huge fans of the army...

Re: So about those Riptide Wings...

Not all prototypes make it to production, clearly the xv22 was replaced by the Ghostkeel. Isn't the fluff for the XV22 that is WAS a prototype for a new stealth suit, but it was too hard/expensive to produce and they needed a new solution ASAP after the XV15's got reverse engineered, so the XV25's ...
