Re: Ethereal + 2 Marker Drones + Sniper Drone Team = Win ?

Leaving him embarked on a devil fish keeps him safe, allows him to retain mobility, and his invocation of the elements is actually boosted when measuring its AoE from the vehicle's hull. This will no longer work as of the last FAQ, since Ethereal abilities do not function anymore while embarked. I'...

Re: Ethereal + 2 Marker Drones + Sniper Drone Team = Win ?

I like this idea, I've used Ethereals and sniper drone teams in the past, but never thought of giving the ethereal marker drones. I agree that if you want firepower and markerlights then you would go with this combination (I know I would). Unfortunately, there is no way to take an Ethereal inside th...

Re: Hit and Run, Vectored Retro thrusters

Initiative test are rolled on 1d6, and you need to roll equal or less than your highest initiative (6 always fails). So a Commander would need a 3 or less, crisis suits would need a 2 or less, and Vespids would need a 5 or less.

Re: Anti Chaos (Nurgle) List

The fire warriors and crisis suits will all fall easily to S8 AP3, however Hammerheads will not, take an Ion Cannon, and then you ignore the armor on most of his models while still wounding his bikes and infantry on 3+ and 2+ respectively (2+ always while overcharged) plus if you can use your fire w...

Re: Starting Again - Looking For Advice On Expansion

Where you go next really depends on what type of army you want to play, and how competitive you want to be. If you want to play in a lot of tournaments, then definitely an optimized stealth cadre and riptides are the way to go. Otherwise just get the models that look interesting or have rules that y...

Re: Sniper Drone Teams - Solid Markerlight Source?..

I've fielded Sniper drones quite a bit, (twice in causal/semi-competitive tournaments, many times in pure casual games). I think they are a lot more competitive than most people give them credit for, but their markerlights are more of a bonus than their primary function. The BS5 rapid fire sniper ri...

Re: Shadowsun Command Link Drone

They are both re-rolls, so they do not stack. You pick one since each die can only be re-rolled once, either the re-roll one's to hit of the command-link drone, or the re-roll all failed to hits of the C&C node.

Re: [1850] T'au Hunter Cadre 343

Ok, a few general notes. Your first Crisis squad has too many upgrades, each one can take 3 weapons/systems and twin-linked weapons counts as two. So each Crisis in that squad is one over the limit. Rail rifles are a bit pricey and they take away markerlights, if this list is for friendly games then...

Re: Counter-Strike Cadre and Scatter Free Deep Strike

One thing to consider would be that some locations or tournaments discourage or ban forge world. But in the end I think that we could go back and forth for quite some time on the theoretical strengths and weaknesses of this setup. In the end however it is how well it does on the table, very few batt...

Re: Counter-Strike Cadre and Scatter Free Deep Strike

If anything shoots at a Devilfish turn one it will most likly end up jinking to either save the large scatter free zone for the Pathfinder Devilfish or used as a jinking Devilfish to block other units from shooting or assaulting the Pathfinder's Devilfish. I'm not sure what you mean with this state...
