Petition for Tau Orca

Good morning everyone! I made a petition to hopefully show GW and FW there is enough interest to re-release the Orca model. With the new transport rules hinted at for 8th Edition, it may be a very effective unit. It never hurts to ask, and you never know, it might work! Thanks! https://www.change.or...

Re: Vespid Stingwing mini question

I think I will go for the metal ones, just because I can always pin the components together. I can modify the base to try to compensate for the weight issues. Half my Kroot have bits of clay under the base to keep them level. Thanks for the feedback guys!

Vespid Stingwing mini question

Hey folks, quick question: We are going to start a Kill Team game with our local group, and I am thinking of getting some Vespids. My question to the community is, are the old metal minis superior to the new resin? I can get my hands on either, but only want to buy once. I got burned on the resin sn...

Battlescape

Good evening all. Not precisely Tau related, except in the fact I was looking for an excuse not to paint more infantry. A friend gave me this as part of his collection, and I decided to throw it together Saturday night. http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b456/sparafucile1/DSC08325_zpswba8knkd.jpg h...

Re: Help with color scheme

The Firewarriors were the first unit I ever painted. I was appalled while taking the pictures at how bad they look compared to my later efforts. I have a second squad primed to paint and expect a much better showing. The brass accents came from, as you said, a way to make them pop on the battlefield...

Re: Help with color scheme {UPDATE Photo-Heavy}

OK, So I finally got a bunch of the army done. Several painting, stripping, painting cycles have left me with what you see. The Riptide isn't done yet, but I wanted to show my progress. The Riptide base was prompted by a local player crushing a Tau infantry under his Raven Guard Dreadnought's foot. ...

Re: TAU RUMOURS...New suit mid page 10 and rules/ price etc P14

Replay from ForgeWorld regarding the size: Hi There, Thanks for your email, currently the Tau super heavy is still under construction and the Earth cast are working hard to get it ready for the pilots to begin there work for the greater good. As such we do not have any information to hand other than...

Re: TAU RUMOURS...New suit mid page 10 and rules/ price etc P14

I sent an e-mail to ForgeWorld asking what the overall dimensions of the model are. You never know, I might get a reply.

Re: TAU RUMOURS...update 4/6/2015

Hmm, I think we might see one of two options, depending on how GW plans to suck up our money. 1. Farsight and Tau Empire as separate codexes, each with half of the member races of the Tau Empire, but with both sides being able to use the auxiliaries. 2. Farsight and Empire in one codex, and a separa...

Re: List of Tau products

Did a little digging and the set I saw was the Fire Support Cadre set. It had one riptide and six broadsides. If you team them up they get tank killer and preferred enemy space marine. Original retail was $214. Might call the store and see what they want for it. Individually, the pieces would cost m...

Re: List of Tau products

Thanks Modelglue. I was recently at an out-of-town gaming store and I saw a black box set that had a riptide and a few broadsides. Might see if I can find it at origins next week.

List of Tau products

OK, did a bit of searching, but can't seem to find what I am looking for. Can anyone point me to a listing of all the Tau products that GW, FW have produced for the game? I am heading to a gaming convention next week and want to see if I can track down some older sets/models. Any help would be great...

Re: Help with color scheme

Well, Firewarriors, Stealth Suits and Drones are done. Need to get 3 Crisis Suits, 1 Broadside, 2 Piranhas and an Ethereal done by Friday night for my first game ever! Broadside might not be fully painted, but everything will be based. Going to leave the Devilfish and Kroot for next week. Oh, and ne...

Re: Help with color scheme

Have had correspondence with paint companies, airbrush companies and the stencil company. Summing up, everyone says it comes down to the primer. Most suggest an automotive primer, but admit that it might fill in the detail of the models. As such, I am postponing doing the hexcamo until I build up my...

Re: Help with color scheme

ShasODerpy, thanks for the info. Figure I should add some more information and some examples here so maybe the community can point out where I am going wrong. I've only used an airbrush for about a week, so I don't doubt I might be overstepping my abilities. I am priming all the pieces with Montana ...

Re: Help with color scheme

Ugh! Painted my devilfish, and it turned out horrible. The paints I mixed were either too thick or too watery. Plus the masking stuck too well to the basecoat and pulled the paint off. Time for a different approach. Ordered some new paint, which should arrive Thursday. Until then I will work on gett...
