Well making sure there is enough line of sight blocking terrain may be a good thing to look into. Long range shooting out of bikes or wave serpents should do fine against Tau. Does he run Typhus and a psyker to buff the zombies to t5? Does he run multiple 20 man squads of them? Does he use the stratagem to make the plague marines immune to shooting for a turn? Did he use any stratagems? What does he equip the plague marines with? They can have plasma guns, plague launcher...

So long as you are playing matched play that is.

Oh also the 1k sons ability that buffs their saves buffs their invuln save too. So firing plasma at them can be difficult what with a 4++.

Heck now their sorcerers can make that a 3++ re-roll ones.

So you can use regular overwatch as many times as you would like but if you use FTGG to help another unit you are prohibited from overwatching again that phase. Did you use the storm surge to overwatch for other units in that game? Sounded like the first irk boyz charged a unit of firewarriors and got pasted by Surge overwatch. Don't know the exact situation but I believe suits are not infantry and therefore would need to be 50% obscured for every model in the unit on top of being entirely within the terrain feature to gain a 2+ armor save.

Yeah I wouldn't even be surprised if they nerfed them before the codex. They've been pretty quick to act when they see a unit spamed in an army.
Just look at guard command squads or flyers.

I mostly oppose it for fluff reasons but that hammer is coming.

Well according to sources both release lists floating around are wrong so who knows what is after Ad Mech?
Pattern so far has been imperial followed by chaos but that isn't certain and there are only 2 more chaos codexs anyway.

I'm mostly surprised that the two chaos player's lists were so similar. Really the Emperor's Children player should have been a nightmare of Noise Marines blasting you with ignores cover weapons. Plus they can shoot twice. The night lords should be appearing near your back lines and using leadership...

Actually relics cost points. The warlord is allowed to pay for and equip 1 relic (Not named characters).
At least Space Marines have a stratagem that lets them either spend 1 cp to give 1 relic to another character or 3cp to give a relic to two other characters.
Different relics for each of course.
