Re: My T'au gue'vesa army ideas

For kill team and SWA games, we fluffed up a setting for some gues. World was vassalized by Water Caste, and while much of the world is happier under Tau rule, there are still dissidents, and kind of a Nazi-occupied France underground resistance of Imperials firebombing Earth Caste factories or what...

Re: Petition for Tau Orca

The Orca appears in the TOC for Imperial Armour Index: Xenos. It will have 8th edition rules.

Re: The run to 8th edition

GW is using "Chapter Approved" to update the 8th edition rules/balance once per year. One has been announced for Christmas, and the Honor of Konor campaign will be used for largescale playtesting for the update. Do my eyes deceive me, or do Aun'Va's Honor Guard, who lack ranged weapons, re...

Re: The run to 8th edition

Just a heads up, I've seen some people already trying to exploit rules. Latest one was suggesting that if you replace your <Sept> and your <Chapter> tags with the same name, they technically share a faction keyword and can be allied, which, at best, is unsportsmanlike. Perhaps most depressing about ...

Re: The run to 8th edition

Well genestealer cults are up and I wonder if people will stil think Tau are OP. But We'll have to wait for the point values. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/05/27/warhammer-40000-faction-focus-genestealer-cults/ One of my favourite aspects of the Genestealer Cults, though, is their abilit...

Re: The run to 8th edition

As noted, some leaks are in full effect. Only psykers can Deny The Witch, for what it's worth. If nothing else, the Talisman of Arthas Molach is getting a bit of a rewrite. Chances are that it'll have a 24'' range, now, though.

D is officially gone, but in a way many weapons are now D, since they can deal multiple damage per hit.

Re: The run to 8th edition

Am I the only one here that don't like to be part of Xenos 2 book and who will miss our Codex? Could be worse. You could be SOB, and your army with a full roster of unit choices (except for fliers, now, I guess), who is a large force with multiple orders in the fluff and that often operates indepen...

Re: The run to 8th edition

So, Drones. If Sniper Drones do not mix in with anyone then I really doubt if any drones will. It does look like they will run independently yet be able to jump in the way of nasty wounds hitting nearby Battlesuits or Infantry. Drones hanging just behind the front lines acting as wound tanks and ov...

Re: The run to 8th edition

Efficiency or not, you don't build two sphere expansion fleets in 5 years. Oh please, does anyone think the expansion is really spherical at this point? No one fights for empty space, the fight is for usable resources. The galaxy looks kinda like a flat disk. Not "one planet flat" or &quo...

Re: The run to 8th edition

I posted in a new thread because I thought this one was mostly about 8thed crunch, but yeah. Two expansion fleets for the price of one seems a little too good to be true. The real question is: Who was leading each? Did they "retire" Shadowsun back to her cryotube after Aun'va was killed an...

Fifth Sphere Expansion: 8thed Tau Fluff

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/05/13/new-warhammer-40000-war-zone-damocles-may13gw-homepage-post-4/ So, the Damocles inferno got shut down just for the heck of it. Imps are even more strained and hardpressed than they were before, and Tau see an opening. So, they send the 4th sphere expans...

Re: 8th Edition: The Eye Opens

So, a couple of the larger maelstrom concentrations have little images hidden in them. The one up "north," has quite a few teeth, and the one in the center for example has a man-skull. The one next to the Tau Empire seems to have something, too, but I can't tell what it is with all the big...

Re: What sept world is shadowsun from?

I'm most positive she's from T'au. At least that's what her armour's colours would suggest. I believe this is correct. White is the sept color of T'au, and don't we have fluff somewhere that implies that the larger the application of the sept color, the higher the rank/ability/importance of the ind...

Re: Fluff Update: Burning Dawn and Operation Shadowtalon

Any explanation on why a 'ui was in charge of the overall mission, despite being outranked by his erstwhile subordinates? (Not that this bothers me. The tau not sticking to hierarchy and graciously stepping aside when they realize that a subordinate is better equipped to lead in a given situation i...
