Re: Modeling a 4 Fusion Commander

Two underslung on each arm feels best to me. I tried one on each and one on each shoulder, but the model is too busy.

It specifies a weapon, so probably not.

Also note that Paulson makes some solid, cheap CIB-alikes.

'Monat' is the super nerdy way of referring to a single suit.

I believe he's talking about this section:

It's a damn good catch - almost every other weapon has a '0' AP instead.

Re: Rising Star: Cold Star Commander In 8th Edition

Hell, I'm willing to put money on it. I bet a (new) box of Stealth Suits that when the FAQ comes out the Coldstar gets no benefit from the ATS in melee.

Any takers?

Re: Rising Star: Cold Star Commander In 8th Edition

The Advanced Targeting System only applies to a model's weapons. The Coldstar does not have a melee weapon, so it will not benefit in CC. Main rulebook, Chapter 5 (Fight Phase), Section 4 (Choose your Weapon): "If the datasheet does not list any melee weapons, the model is assumed to fight wit...

Re: Support Systems in 6th Ed

The biggest cost associated with stims is the opportunity cost, though. I mean, it's worth the points for sure, but is it worth taking over an Advanced Targeting System?

They put it in the system description instead of on the datasheet?

Re: Rising Star: Cold Star Commander In 8th Edition

The Advanced Targeting System only applies to a model's weapons. The Coldstar does not have a melee weapon, so it will not benefit in CC. Something else that needs to be brought up, however, is the Coldstar's use as a headhunter. That 20" move is really nice for getting around the targeting res...

Re: RIP riptide

Anyone notice you can take a Shield Generator for your Riptide - and apparently you pay the much-reduced battlesuit cost for it! With the extra wounds a Nova costs now, it's a pretty attractive option!

It really feels like you're taking systems and wargear at random. It's honestly better going the other way, taking too little as opposed to too much. Try to define a role for each unit you field, then only pick items that meet that role. It's all right to have only two guns and no other systems on a...

Yeah, as soon as he's paired up with anyone with a movement psyker power things get really, really dangerous. He can start gobbling units pretty quickly.

Re: 1000pts Farsight Enclave DBC

All right, so. There's a lot to unpack here. First off some your points costs are wildly inaccurate. We're not really supposed to discuss points on the forum, but I think I can point out what you've done wrong. Stim Injectors do not cost 15 points on a Riptide, it's one of those items that has two d...
