Re: Bent R'Varna Cannon

OK, so the hot water shouldn't damage the paint then?

Painted R'Varna Cannon has Bent

I've have an R'Varna for a while, and as you can expect with forgeworld, when it arrived several of its parts needed to be reset. Since then I've basecoated it, but not done much else with it, but I came back to it a couple of days ago and found that one of its cannons has become slightly bent. Is t...

That's definitely what it was called by the designer

Re: Eye of the Storm - Competitive Tau list construction

Just a quick point, the servo skulls won't just stop scouts, they'll stop infiltrators as well.

Also worth noting that friendly deepstrikes only roll 1d6 if they come down within 12" of it, which could be nice if you wanted to do that with the crisis suits

Re: 1850pts Competitive/cheesiest Tau list (with ITC rules)

Tektium, I also noticed in Chris' list that he has the Storm Surge equipped with a Velocity Tracker and chose the main gun as the Pulse Driver Cannon. I'm not sure of the stat-line of the flyers in the Tyranid codex, but I don't think many of them would be affected by the Storm Surge's secondary we...

Re: Ghostkeel Crisis Suits...

You can play with your models on whatever size base you want to, that's what the FAQ said. If you think they would look better with a 60mm base then go for it! Q: What are the official rules regarding specific base sizes for specific models (if any)? A: The rules assume that models are mounted on th...

Re: News - new Forge World stuff for IA

I'd quite like to see some options opened up in regards to the support systems that the R'varna and Y'vahra can take. With skyfire blasts now a thing, the R'varna would make the perfect anti-air platform, with 6 str8 hits potentially (or even better, just intercept with one of them so that you can s...

Calender I believe, as they said "after summer". However, as I say, they didn't know an exact date

Did they give any date for the Imperial Armour book release?

I asked and the person I spoke to didn't know an exact date but said it would be 3rd quarter

Re: News - new version of the Barracuda

Also, the new barracuda is very thin, looking at the model at warhammer fest EDIT: While talking to the designer he described the bit at the back as being a chaff drone, rather than some kind of thruster. Also, this model is extremely magnetizable, like the supremacy suit, the weapon mounts have sma...

Re: Death From the Skies

The way I read it they can actually jink. Something in the wording about how they super heavy rules for moving or something. I can't remember the exact thing that made me believe they can jink and I'm riding the bus home right now. But I will definitely look it up when I get home. I'm going off the...

Re: Death From the Skies

One thing that might be interesting is if our bigger flyers get updated for this as well. Pretty hard to argue with a StrD twinlinked weapon, especially if it ignores cover.

Although the tigershark and the manta might need a bit of a buff since they can no longer jink.

Re: Can we still field Breachers post-FAQ?

I play with a squad of footslogging breachers that I either use to hold down an objective or attack enemy units that are pushing towards my bigger suits. In the last game I played with them they did extremely well, killing a squad of devastators in the shooting phase and then killing a squad of assa...

Re: 40k FAQ First Draft

I think the most compelling argument (other than the fact that our codex says "items") is that the FSE supplement explicitly allows a model to take signature systems from both the FSE item list and the regular codex. Unless you are going to tell me that only FSE lists can take multiple sig...

One thing that I think would be cool is it they had allowed kroot to be psykers. Since they eventually become the things that they eat I don't think its much of a stretch to think that a kept that after a lot of psykers would become one

Re: Aun'va and Strength D/ignore cover.

The wording for PoD says that it is taken after any failed saving throws, it doesn't say that it is a saving throw (I would argue that it also occurs after any failed FNP throws). If you can't make a saving throw (because of ignores cover for example), then I would count that saving throw as having ...
