Re: How do you actually deal with AV14 ?

Sure it does. You may be referencing an old rule - some googling led me to a page from 2014 where they are saying that rule is no longer in effect - but in 7th no such blanket exception exists for Superheavies.

Re: Darkstrider question

Original question: yes, you can fire Overwatch and then run D6" in any direction. Guys above are right that a simple 3.5" longer charge distance isn't that amazing in itself. However, there are a number of other tricks you can use here. For example, it specifically says that our special mo...

Re: How do you actually deal with AV14 ?

Another thing that hasn't been brought up - are you facing superheavy vehicles or not? They ignore all penetration results except for Explode!, and those only remove a further D3 hull points rather than blow the entire thing up. Against non-superheavies, attacking with AP1 weapons (Fusion, Railguns)...

Re: How do you actually deal with AV14 ?

Depends a bit on the target. Does it have 2 or 8 hull points? Does it have AV14 in all directions? For the heaviest targets I use Gunfort, Y'vahra and Stormsurge D missiles. For smaller targets, suicide Fusion suits. Don't be afraid to lose the suits to whatever comes out from the transports - it me...

Re: Hamwarmer 40°C

I run a list that includes a gunfort populated with Aun'va, two squads of FWs and two Fireblades (and sometimes Darkstrider to deal with T6). With the 4+ save, 6+ FNP, 2+ Cover, Paradox of Duality, rerollable LD10 and high body count it's usually able to soak up a lot of enemy firepower and still be...

Re: Feel no pain and how to overcome it

To be completely honest? Nah Submunition rounds are rarely worth it. That counts for the Railhead alltogether. Ten out of ten times the Ionhead is worth his points more than the Railhead. Even as Longstrike against Astra Militarum I had to learn the hard truth that a single S10 AP1 shot is not that...

Re: Custom tau females and "rambo" like guy

I agree. I can't figure out why no one at GW, FW, or anyone else makes a set of straight-up female firewarriors? Really, actual non-curvy, non-bikini wearing female firewarriors. Is that too much to ask for? Or, you know, female Tau that don't have boobs or anime hair? Because why the hell would th...

Re: Feel no pain and how to overcome it

The Stormsurge can fire its Pulse Driver twice at Str10 Ap2 with the same range, and does not get hot. Thats 2x the shots that have +1 Str each and do not have the chance to injure you on a 1. Furthermore, the Stormsurge can anchor and fire that twice for 4x the shots of a Riptide. Pulse Driver sho...

Re: Riptide Unit & Nova Thrust Move

How I would play it. Say you have a 3 Riptide unit with models A B C. A&B get the 4d6 Nova power and C fails his Nova roll (or picks another power, whatever). Movement is done on a model basis . This is what lets you use JSJ with a Sniper Team. So two of your Riptides are able to jump 4d6, and t...

Re: My first 1000 points list

As I tell most new players, I think you don't have enough markerlight spread. You've got a squad of six BS5 markerlights, so you can mark a single target very efficiently. But it rarely happens that you want to shoot at just one unit per turn, so you want the ability to split your markerlights betwe...
