Re: Chapter Approved Leaks Discussion

The other possibility is that our codex is to be one of the first released in 2018. So GW are waiting until then to release point changes. Blood Angels aren't on the list and their codex is due any time now (though I appreciate that standard SM are and that effects BA). Ya know, just hoping! Oh you...

Re: Chapter Approved Leaks Discussion

They.. increased... the Ta'unar? I was already unimpressed with it in 8th and now they junked it. Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm not kidding about that +755-point increase. It was 745 before and now it's 1500.. base . All titans went up to insane levels. What was the last thing Reece and the ITC was whinin...

Edit
Okay all Titan's went up in points to such obscene levels they are unplayable now.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

God this is depressing..... I told you there are now Tau haters in power. Likely won't be dislodged for a lifetime. If our dex drops and it sucks I'm packing it in. Barring a massive change in frontline gaming's structure and/or GW's structure there is simply nothing we can do. You don't have to te...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I know people think I'm negative, the only small hope I have is the points changes. I expect the worst though. If the points changes are also crap then we know our dex is purposely being built badly and there is no hope. Edit So far Faeit has been dead on with these rules with GW previewing a few an...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Hahaha. People had hope. :P Tau Warlord Traits 1. re-roll failed to hit rolls if they have if they have not moved this turn 2. the Warlord can advance and shoot as if it had not moved Relic- 1 time per game, you may re-roll a single hit roll, wound roll, or damage roll for the bearer or a unit withi...

Re: Weekly Discussion #2: Which Sept's lore interests you the most, and why?

Kel'shan a mix of high technology and xenos bigotry. They are kind of like the IG who have seen a lot of *BAD WORD DELETED!* happen and are a little more gritty and down to earth take on Tau. They don't believe entirely in even their own fellow GG approved xenos because they have seen all too often ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Why are we excited for this? Chapter Approved likely won't have any points cost changes for us or anything major so who cares? Chapter Approved is billed as having inclusions for all armies without a codex, bringing them updates that allow them to participate in the new mechanics of 8th edition tha...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/11/18/get-ready-chapter-approved-nov-18gw-homepage-post-3/ Tidbits on the new VDR rules, mostly. However, the last line also says Chapter Approved will be on preorder on the 25th. Why are we excited for this? Chapter Approved likely won't have any points cos...

Re: Stormsurge

Ya I question if a stormsurge will ever win its points back in a competitive game, but I do find it to be an excellent jack-of-all-trades and clean-up operations unit. While I don't take EWO on it, I find that whatever most armies deepstrike in the stormsurge can just unleash havoc on the following...

Re: New Tigershark Fighter-Bomber up for pre-order

For what it's worth, I've always had great experience with Forgeworld models. I've made more than a few purchases with them in recent history but have only ever encountered one or two serious mould defects (and even then they were either virtually unnoticeable to the untrained eye or fairly simple ...

Re: Trouble with Mathhammer: Mean, Median, and Skewed Distributions

FFG solved their 40k rpg line's problem by adding in minimum damage on some weapons or even weapon firing modes. Actually they seemed to have solved much trouble with 40k rules in general that GW still is catching up to. This made it so that other weapons were actually useful again and made weapon c...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

God no, not yet another item subject to a dice roll. You prefer the Riptide to automatically wound itself instead of only 1/3Rd of the time? Yes. The Riptide was too strong in 7th because all of its rules made it unique and survivable along with MC's in general. In 8th a Riptide is the exact same a...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

So it seems I am right more and more we will be one of the last. Everything I've said about Tau in 8th is coming true. At this point my last and most dire prediction is that the Tau 8th codex will be garbage in terms of rules. I am feeling confident in my claim, but it is no less depressing. I hate ...
