Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Easily solved by making the commander unit of the sept give special rules to represent their unique buffs ect. I do hope they dish out at least one unique character per sept featured (eventually) but I don't want them to drown us either since I tend not to be fond of pre-made characters.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Eh it still seems very heavily inspired though. I suspect it is a little intentional. On another note If you know anything about AoS GW can barely drop a hint in a book and not make an army out of it. So almost certainly we'll see the whatever the 4th sphere is and it will be different enough to jus...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

If you had to pick between the Navy Seals or Joint Task Force 2 (Canadian) to send into an area in the winter who would you choose? Both are equally trained, but the Canadians definitely have an edge in their home field. Is it a massive advantage? I don't think so, but for gameplay purposes it's goo...

Re: New 8th FAQ

Ion Rifles are one of the more points efficient weapons we have, so it actually helps make it worth it's cost despite the minor points bump.

Re: Ultramarines Chapter Tactics spotted!

As a person who played AoS and was impressed with their battle tomes this is next level over even the Kharadron book which is fantastic. Granted 40k is slightly more complicated. So I am impressed, but not surprised. GW has mostly been hitting it out of the park in particular their AoS battletomes. ...

Re: Tau saviour protocol FAQ

I got ripped off then at my local in my first game they said drones can only save the amount of damage on a multi wound hit as a multi wound hit does each damage individually and not all at once. I didn't have time to look it up in the rules, but I knew I was right. If so I might have won that game....

Re: ATC 40k Results

I've had some games with 8th now in a professional manner and all I have to ask is. Did they do the lowest amount of units deployed goes first all the time thing? Honestly I find the base game has a huge alpha strike problem and it honestly feels random and like no skill comes into play other than m...

Overheal wrote:Oh, yeah, no way would they do that. Talk about an alpha strike, everything from your gun drones to your crisis suits hitting on 2+ when they drop in? Nnnnnot happening :::(

How about 3+ then, but it can't be modified by any penalties? If something has a higher BS then it won't go lower to BS3+

I meant they hit with a BS of 2+ the way I worded it was weird lol. Fixed.

Farsight Enclaves The Grand Mont'ka: The Farsight Enclaves and their famous leader have become the masters of Mont'ka. While other Sept's fight with ferocity or close range assaults. There is three thing that separates the Grand Mont'ka from a simple shock attack. Surprise combined with overwhelming...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Best thing about Tau all it is is sept markings. So easy lol. Don't need to paint the whole scheme like a chapter, but yeah it is cool. You can even just put some precut sticker tape on them, forget painting them! Or even forget the sticker too! Just play them as if they were whatever sept you want...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Hah, with those rules I'd probably switch over to paint my army in Kel'shan colors since I prefer close range shooting anyway. :D Best thing about Tau all it is is sept markings. So easy lol. Don't need to paint the whole scheme like a chapter, but yeah it is cool. Kel'shan Sept is so cool. Can't w...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Okay with the total rules out for chapter tactics I am going to give it a shot again. Kel'shan Sept: Earth and Fire Strike Kel'shan is known for their potent combination of high technology, and close range siege breaker assaults. They have perfected a technique only possible due to their advanced we...

Re: Ultramarines Chapter Tactics spotted!

Iron Hands. If they take a wound roll a dice and on a 6+ they ignore the wound. Basically feel no pain 6+

Someone thought I was crazy for giving Kel'shan +1 toughness to represent their hardiness vs siege and alien attacks?

Re: Ultramarines Chapter Tactics spotted!

The Imperial Fists one is out there. Ignore cover bonuses when shooting at units in cover. Reroll failed wound when attacking buildings.

Black Templar lets you reroll failed charge rolls.

Re: Ultramarines Chapter Tactics spotted!

Oh for the ITC players on the latest frontline they have said that when chapter tactics come out they will enforce a stance at tournaments that you have to have each detachment in your army painted correctly. So if you have ultramarines and white scars you need to paint them so people can tell. I im...
