Re: Multiple For the greater good assist

Basically if a unit has the rule and is in range to do so, it can overwatch using ftgg. Your whole army could potentially fire into the same overwatch if you had a strong enough reason for them to do so.

Re: The Confused Shas'el -- A Discussion on Battlefield Role for Crisis Battlesuits

I think that 3x Flamers (on 3 XV8's) is too little to make a good impact on bigger infantry units (10+) and 6 would do the job nicely to get enough kills while 9 is overkill. So while you are within 8" for your targets you might as well make some use of the FBs extra damage posibilty by target...

Re: Normal Crisis converted to Commanders/Coldstars

As far as I can recall there are no official rules in 8th edition regarding model bases. I believe GW's current stance is base them however you want as long as its cool and you used their products to do it.

To me the optimal loadout for this would be fusion blaster, plasma rifle, and CIB. Everything is 18-24" range

Yes, exactly.

Re: How are you liking the new addition compared to 7th,6th,5th, and 4th

I'm 37, been playing since 2nd ed. This edition is by far superior to any i have played although I too would like to see facing and firing arcs as well as cover get more depth. However I recognize that there is difficulty in doing so while maintaining ease of play. As far as the fluff goes, I'm larg...

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

The point of the idea is this: In a traditional pre 8th list you might have had multiple crisis squads each squad being equipped with different weapons specializing that squad for one purpose. In 8th the lack of targeting restrictions means that each suit can carry different weapons for different pu...

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Don't get too hung up on the weapon choices, mine are just examples to illustrate the idea, and I use flamets because I play mine super aggressively and would never not use redundant homing beacons to guarantee first turn alpha placement. But you could as easily use plasma rifles or missile pods if ...

Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

So I'm going to explain an idea and I want to hear what the community thinks: I was just rereading the shooting rules and I realized that in 8th edition any multi-weapon model may fire it's individual weapons at different targets. In previous editions this was restricted to vehicles, monsters, and s...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Eh, in USD, the price isn't that far off, maybe $30 more than the Eldar box, so drop the broadside and replace with a stealth team.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

As a FSE player, I'd love a T'au box that was a commander, 3 x crisis, a broadside, and all accompanying drones.

Maybe, but how can the community improve if no one is willing to point out when a situation is being mishandled. A good mod team will welcome constructive criticism when offered. After all it's for the greater good.

And this is the silliest thing I've read in a while. Go figure. :D @Panzer: Try harder to be less condescending to your peers on ATT . We, the moderation team, have been following your posts and have noted your attitude. You tend to walk a fine line of accepted and rude behaviour. ATT is a communit...

Re: Crisis and Stealth Suit Loadouts

No, Sniper Drones are never really worth it. Ever. You have to put a lot of points in to make them decent against much cheaper HQs and then they are still bad against the more expensive ones who have proper protection. So i agree pretty much. I don't think any thing with the sniper key word should ...

Re: Tau Power level abuse 100PL

Hmmm... I actually think this is an excellent demonstration of just how overcosted our units are on points. And not only are we over priced, GW at least subconciously already knew it. If power level is a measure of relative power of different units, and we're coming in at that many points higher tha...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

What we really need is support/signature systems that are worth taking in that 4th (and maybe even in the third) hardpoint over the value of massed bs 2+ fusion shooting. Do that and his cost is probably fine. A commander should be designed to make your crisis suits better, not simply to be a better...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Things I want to see: Better support options for commanders than "just take quadfusion" Cheaper crisis suits A JSJ strategem: 2cp all fly+battlesuit units w/in x inches of commander y can use it +1cp per etherial chosen, enemy +1vp per etherial slain A selection of 1cp stratagems only avai...
