Re: Command Points: How do I use them???

Also, you can only use them once per phase.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

What we really need is support/signature systems that are worth taking in that 4th (and maybe even in the third) hardpoint over the value of massed bs 2+ fusion shooting. Do that and his cost is probably fine. A commander should be designed to make your crisis suits better, not simply to be a better...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Things I want to see: Better support options for commanders than "just take quadfusion" Cheaper crisis suits A JSJ strategem: 2cp all fly+battlesuit units w/in x inches of commander y can use it +1cp per etherial chosen, enemy +1vp per etherial slain A selection of 1cp stratagems only avai...

Re: Combined arms FoF

What's the advantage of using 2 teams of firewarriors instead of 2 squads of gun drones, is it just that it makes a battalion detachment?
Also why a 10 man breacher instead of 2 five man teams?

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

You guys can still paint everything but the sept markings though, there is nothing that says that cadre's from different septs can't have the same overall camoflage since that is largely based on the world they're from. I kinda think it would be entertaining for someone to have magnatized heads and ...

This.

Especially zooming up to add more ablative wounds to the crisis suits you just manta'd in.

Re: Crisis and Stealth Suit Loadouts

That's kind of the point, the more firepower they absorb, the better.

I was just thinking itd be fun to keep an msu crisis team in manta hold till turn 3 just to see how much people dump into the stealth team to prevent a homing strike.

Re: Crisis and Stealth Suit Loadouts

So I was just reading through the index and I saw something that I previously missed, and something I'm not sure was possible in previous codices.

Has anyone considered the effectiveness of shield generators on stealth suits?

Re: Deathboon's Farsight Enclaves Army

So I only paint then assemble with my bigger suits, crisis and up. The fire warriors and stealth suits were assembled then painted. Gluing; I assemble substructures with GW plastic cement before priming, large bits or armor plates i leave off and prime separately as well. After painting I'll glue us...

Re: Rethinking my whole army.

If they were in position to do so, and if by doing so I could protect a more valuable unit from being shot or charged for a turn, I sure would. Course I really don't see the value of pathfinders when you can have marker drones doing the same job and serving as ablative wounds for your battlesuits.

I think forgeworld has a wraithlird psycher you can take for your smite and allies objectives.

Re: Rethinking my whole army.

I'd say 2 - 3 commanders is plenty, and id probably run 2 as fusion with the third as either CIB or coldstar.

I'm torn between runnin 3xFlamer, or 2 x flamer+fusion on the crisis suits.

I love the breacher fish as well.

Re: Rethinking my whole army.

My point largely is that there is a huge shift in viable tactics for T'au from what used to come easy (line up your stuff and shoot like crazy) to what can be done with T'au today. The top table BAO player was an exceptional example of this if you're looking for video evidence. The problem is that a...

Re: Rethinking my whole army.

I think there is still a ton of finesse out there but it requires such a huge shift in play style that many cannot wrap their head around it: 1. Gunline is gone. 2. Good Tau armies do not require spam 3. "Up close and personal" is the new "Stay back and shoot" 4. Crisis suits are...

Re: Flamers vs. Burst cannons

I think your math is off, when working this out its better to use statistical averages. Triple Flamer Suit: Avg d6 = (1+6)/2 = 3.5 *3 Flamers = 10.5 hits Wounds t4 on a 4+ or 1/2 of the time so 10.5 * 0.5 = 5.25 So 5.25 wounds against t4 before saves Triple burst suit 12 shots hit on 4+ or 1/2 of th...
