Re: What to do with a Pathfinder Team box?

My next project actually is a Pathfinder box. I will indeed be magnetising them for interchangability, and because I have 6 old metal Pathfinders, I'll be able to make: 2 units of 8(5 plastic and 3 metal), one with 5 Markers and 3 Ion, and one with 5 Markers and 3 Rails. The drones, I'll definitely...

Re: What to do with a Pathfinder Team box?

When I painted up my new Fire Warriors, I painted a slight change onto one of the Shas'la so that if I wanted to split them up into two teams of 5, I would have a second Shas'ui that can be distinguished. I'll be doing the same with my Pathfinders. Just a small transfer, or a little bit more sept co...

Re: A'kish Vior'la Cadre

So I did a thing :D And this marks the end of my T'au army for now. I'm going to prep, paint and assemble all my current projects and hopefully start collecting some Spess Mererns. https://s17.postimg.org/nzruc73un/20171110_145620.jpg I'm happy with 2 Commanders, 6 Crisis, 30 Fire Warriors, 10 Pathf...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Popularity is no indication for anything. Just look at Space Marines. They lost access to the rifleman dread loadout which was without doubt the most popular dread loadout. And to the viability, CIBs were very viable in 7th already. Nobody bothered with Crisis in a world of Riptide Wings though so ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Chapter approved will be a book to buy or it will be freely avaible ? Its likely to be a book that you'll have to buy. Unlikely. I wouldn't even be overly surprised if Crisis would lose access to CIBs (GW removed weapon options for some units with the Codex release when the unit itself had no bits ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I would take rumours with a HUGE grain of salt. I know there are a fair number of people on these boards and all over the internet that like to treat rumours religiously and almost always believe them to be fact, but rumours are just rumours, and they've been proven to be horribly wrong in the past,...

Re: Advice needed: how to make armor look like armor and not paper?

Don’t you find it very time consuming to do base costs with a brush? I actually find it easier to do because: When I paint, I paint almost completely unassembled, so I end up sticking each little part to a box, then spraying, then flipping the parts, then spraying again. When I base coat by brush, ...

Re: How can I buy?

I don't want to be "that guy", but even at 1000 rand, you're still only paying two thirds of what we pay in Australia for the Start Collecting boxes. To compare, here in Aus we pay what would equate to roughly just over 1500 rand. I agree wholeheartedly though, GW prices are a bit crazy fo...

Re: Advice needed: how to make armor look like armor and not paper?

That looks 100% normal to me :) As for painting, I decided to change my technique to one not often used. I used to use spray for base coating, and I did when I prepped and painted my Fireblade, but now I've switched to applying my Base Coats by brush. The advantage this gives me is that I can choose...

Re: Advice needed: how to make armor look like armor and not paper?

I don't know if you've glued your Fireblade's head in or not, but I've noticed it isn't sitting properly. It should be able to go maybe 1mm or 2mm further into the body of the model. I have glued it already and it felt like it was snug in its spot correctly. That’s unfortunate if it’s not in the ri...

Re: Rerolls and modifiers

You can only re-roll a dice once. So, even if you have two abilities that let you re-roll 1s, you can only ever use one ability. So, the abilities "do not stack," so to speak. Though you can put the ethereal next to your pathfinders to give them reroll 1's to get that first markerlight on...

Re: How to avoid identical Fireblades?

One thing you could consider is changing out the base of one, and doing up a custom base. I used a pistol for my Fireblade instead of the knife, because it seemed more sensible given that he doesn't actually get to use a melee weapon in combat. They don't get to use a pistol either, but it still mad...

Re: Untouchable ghostkeels

Yep, if the enemy requires a 7+ to hit your model, they can't hit unless they have some positive to-hit modifier. Note that it counts for us as well and at times even worse since we only have BS4+ on most units. If you play a nightfighting mission where you get a negative to-hit modifier depending ...

Is there any chance you could send me the link via personal message?
As for Euro, I'd guess around 140ish, as AUD has close to a 1:2 exchange rate with Euro last I knew

Edit: after comparing some prices in Euro to AUD, I strongly believe a price of 135 is extremely likely.
