Re: A'kish Vior'la Cadre

I ordered the three Broadside Battlesuits that I'll be using for my converted Railsides this afternoon. I'm auper excited! My Fire Warriors are coming along nicely, albeit at turtle-like speeds, but I'm chipping away at them slowly. Once those guys are done, I'll get to work on some extra weapons fo...

Re: 2000pt "Unpopular Opinion" list

No data (or playtesting) behind it yet just theorycrafting. My thoughts below: Ghostkeel are too vulnerable to be taken in large games where their drones could be picked off then GK targeted in a single shooting phase. Take in lower games to reduce the number of units your opponent has to fire at i...

Re: 2000pt "Unpopular Opinion" list

I've amended the list: I changed out the Advanced Targeting System on the Shas'ui of the Missile pod Crisis unit for a Velocity Tracker, and give Markerlights to the two Shas'ui of the smaller Strike Teams., totalling at 2000 pts again. I added the VT because I learned that it not only gives +1 agai...

Re: 2000pt "Unpopular Opinion" list

My rule of thumb I'm testing out is: Use ghostkeels in list 1000 pts and below Use riptides in lists 2000 pts and above Interesting rule. After finishing my Broadsides, I'm going to buy some new Pathfinders(as I'll be using my old Fire Warriors as 'counts as' Pathginders) and following thr Pathfind...

Re: 2000pt "Unpopular Opinion" list

After my failures to do much of anything to anyone with the Ion Accelerator, I'm hoping that the Heavy Burst Cannon redeems the Riptide. I'd hate to be disappointed, because the Riptide is such a cool model and I had so much fun putting it together and painting it!

2000pt "Unpopular Opinion" list

First of all, I call it my "unpopular Opinion" list because most of the units I'm taking seem to be disliked quite a bit, but that doesn't bother me because I don't have a large collection of models so I have little choice anyway :D Secondly, readers can find my project log here to see the...

Re: Let's Contact GW!

I reckon our infantry not in suits should get +1 BS if they stay stationary(and possibly fire all weapons at the same target, for extra balance), giving them a slight increase in accuracy but only when stationary, so still calling for Markerlights when moving around. Hmmm... Strike Team with BS 3+ ...

Re: Let's Contact GW!

I think Markerlight bonus No. 1 should give rerolls in general instead of reroll 1s. To balance this it would probably be best to bump that kind of a bonus up to 3 instead of 1, and drop ignore movement with Heavy Weapons to 1. This would really help our gun drones advancing and or Carbine wielding ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

You can't really dig that deep into most scifies, as for example you'll have to explain why they don't use robots and nuclear weapons(not even "moderate ones", like neutron bombs or small tacticals with only few kilometers blast range) for most fighting. And even if they do explain it, it...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

While against the Member guidelines and expectations to be wishlisting, and I will admit, most of the wishlisting on here is rather obsurd like asking for an extra hard point on Crisis suits or changing the Markerlight system. I'm not going to wishlist, but if GW added some benefits beyond 5 Markerl...

Re: Mission: Patrol

Attacking with T'au is extremely difficult in any mission. We just aren't as mobile as many other armies. If you really want to benefit from all the aura effects our army gets, then you pretty much need to keep your whole army in an 18" diameter circle blob, and if you want to move and retain t...

Re: Manta Strike

I'm not quite sure why I was fretting the way I was. I suppose I felt a bit kicked in the shin with several units losing the ability to drop in, but you've all raised some very good points.

Manta Strike

There's probably already a topic with this title or discussion framework, but I notice something that I want to bring to everyone's attention, so I felt a new topic was necessary, however I didn't want to create a topic about such a small discussion point, so I decided to broaden the discussion fram...

Re: Kauyon Discussion

Yup, you declare Kauyon at the start of your turn, before the movement phase begins. No matter the wording, there's no way to move before you declare Kauyon, even if it was at the start of the movement phase (which it's not).[/quote] I just pulled up my Index and you are correct. It states "At ...

Re: New Codexes announced

That DuneCrawler is stupidly good. I really, really hate how good the Skitarii are... i know they're meant to be like an elite addition to an army, but when they're taken as a stand alone army, they are simply insanely good, especially when compared to T'au. They do everything we do but better than ...

Re: Kauyon Discussion

If I'm not wrong, Master of War isn't "at the start of your movement phase", meaning that you could effectively move the units you want to before using it, ruling them out of its limitations (and benefits) due to their action which exceeds the limits of the rule, having happened before it ...

Re: Fireblade's volley fire with drones

Now that you guys mention drones, let's say you have 6 drones and arrange them in a line. Then you have an enemy unit to the left side of the drone squad, let's say 5" away. You also have an enemy unit to the right side which is 7" away. The rules says that drones need to shoot at the clo...
