Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

We have to roll like a 2+ for it now? Well, that was to be expected i guess. Could make Shield Generators possibly viable on XV8s, to stop the shots that slip through. Though the actual bodyguards rule is you take the 2+ after failing saves, against ap- weapons this would make saviour Protocol hila...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I'm not going to rate it because that would be too subjective. All I can tell is that I have a massive tournament coming in two months and I'm dropping my Custodes and Thousand Sons list to play T'au instead. Also buy Riptides and a couple Hammerheads (with Ion Cannons) if you don't have them. I kn...

Re: A'kish Vior'la Cadre

Its been a while since I've shared an update, so I figure I should probably let everyone know what I've been up to. Gladly, I'm still working on projects, despite being very busy outside of my Tau. Here's what I've been doing lately: -I recently pioneered a new club with my small group of friends, b...

Re: Something I missed on Shield drones

If you're referring to if the shield drone itself was shot at, yes the drone could take its armor save first followed by the FNP if it fails. This. I played wrong the whole time :-( Been there.... I realized that 2 months ago after 30+ games played... and I was never using Shield drones cause I tho...

Ghostkeel tactica

I've searched and haven't found an up to date, relevant thread on this, so here we go! I'm working on my Ghostkeel's paintwork now, and I'm already planning strategies to take advantage of its capability bwcause my local scene is quite challenging for my T'au. I enjoy playong, and have to maintain a...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I'd love to discuss Broadsides, specifically Railsides. I've loved Railsides since before Missilesides existed. They were always one of my favourite units. Two mass acceleration guns that can ruin any armour, mounted on a battlesuit?! Yes please! But they just don't love up to what they used to be n...

Re: Second army building- ultramarines 2k points

This is kinda funny, cos my second army is going to be Black Templars :D

And if Sisters get plastic models, they're going to be allies for my Templars because fluff-wise, they're the main ones Templars ally with.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I agree with the optimism in recent posts. I too will be nose deep in the new codex for many reasons: learning the changes, reading the new fluff, admiring the new artwork (if there is any). I'll be extremely happy to finally have a hardback book for my army. And I too think that, even though our au...

GW gets the codex ready 8 months in advance. At this stage, the rules are set in stone.

May I request a source for this statement?

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

If the units cost less, the markerlight mechanic was more reliable and there wasn't -1 to hit everywhere, then people wouldn't be saying that our suits need 3+. Yes, we have always been 4+ in the past, but that was before the game drastically changed. Just changing the table, or just making units c...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I'd love to see (and may ask a friend to playtest it see if it's broken or balanced) a markerlight table like this Also remove RR1's from table altogether but give suits back their free Multi-tracker. 1. +1 to hit/ seekers hit on 5+ 2. Ignore negative modifiers for moving with heavy weapons or adva...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

On the topic of Markerlights (which went from a gift from god to the devil's lash in just one edition change), I see them going one of two ways: 1: they scrap the +1 to hit and replace it with "ignores negative modifiers" since they make our entire army invalid anyway (because other armies...

Re: The Greater Good is more like the Slightly More Alright these days

What I don't like about BolS (or any other 40k news site for that matter) is that thry don't list their sources. I went to Warhammer Community's site, and nowhere did I find any info saying that the Drukhari are first in line, followed by us. Did I miss a key detail somewhere else?

Re: Options against Heavy Infantry

Extremely against the contrary, when I face things like Terminators(and eventually Custards) I use, and will use, a satisfyingly large number of Fire Warriors with a couple of combos (Cadre Fireblade/Pulse Accelerator Drone). I've wasted too many rolls trying to use good weapons to punch through hea...

I have some issues with this list, which is kinda the reason you posted right? You wanted advice on improvement? Well, everything I have to say is based purely on opinion, and this may not line up with everyone else's opinions, but I also have experience to add to my opinions as well. I wouldn't bri...

Re: Sniper Drones' BS

Didn't they used to have rail rifles a few editions ago? I swear I remember them and pathfinders being the only ones to have smaller railgun tech, before the broadsides had mini railguns Yes, sniper drones used to have Rail Rifles, but this is in a time when characters weren't as challenging to kil...

Re: Sniper Drones' BS

I have tried many times, and even its range is deecent, not being a Heavy weapon too, and it's strength is higher than other snipers, there are 3 things that kill them, and that I think even if any of them is fixed, they will remein unplayable I agree. Unless you're in a meta where players love to ...
