Re: Rumor Engine Picture Analysis: It's Tau?

My guess:

It's the muzzle of a T'au auxiliary weapon.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Without any changes to rail weapons, the markerlight-table or general BS Broadsides need a huge drop in point cost to be viable.
And I still think stratagems shall not fix units... Like the markerlight stratagem is a fix for our table.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Aaand I still hope for a simple rule for T'au to make it harder to aim any psi powers against them. It's even fluffy. A Psyker closes his eyes trying to manifest a psi power on a T'au. His own people look like holding torches, shining bright, while T'au are only glowing like small lighters. A small ...

Re: Stealth suits for dummies

Yeah, the XV15 models had another taste, more looking like spec-ops Firewarriors with neat tools while XV25s look more like exo-suits packed with a big load of utility systems. My friends always groan when they see me putting Xv25s and XV95s on the table because they really are resilient. The option...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Here's a fun idea: if you stand still, you can fire a high powered shot that deals double damage and has more strength and AP. Just like astra has the "stand still and fire twice" rule. If you move, you can still fire the high powered shot, but it deals one mortal wound to you. Not sure i...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Or it will end in a "manipulated" victory for T'au to show anyone "they aren't that bad". Just to lower some expectations.
OR this way they want to promote Custodes by rofl-stomping the archnemesis Tau.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I didn't finish my thought; We all know about T'au's weaknesses and once I believed auxiliaries were there to round up the T'au codices overall. That might have been at least the general idea long time ago. Give an overall shooty army at least some cheap melee units and something cheap for short ran...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Yep, Space Marine units seem to be no part of the Blood Angels codex.

It was said Kroot won't play a big role in our codex.
I always thought auxiliaries are a part of T'au.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

My greatest fears are we do only get point balances at the wrong places and also maybe into the wrong direction, lose versatility (rules, special effects, ...) because GW can't balance them and also things we were used to are simply cut away like auxiliaries, support systems or whole T'au-Identity-M...

Re: Stealth suits for dummies

Today I played 1.250 points against Blood Angels and took two units of 3x XV25s (1x FB, 2x BC) and a XV95 (FC, 2x BC). Their primary job was to infiltrate the objective markers and decline any disadvantageous Deep Strikes and incoming reserves. And wow...they totally overperformed today. They were a...

Re: Burst cannon for Fusion blaster for stealth suits

If you don't want to magnetize I'd put a Fusion Blaster on it; it is always less confusing and easier to say "He looks special but isn't" than "See this model which looks like any else? This one has a special weapon." Even for you if you realize you just removed the model which h...

Re: How to differentiate Drone units among them

My drone-saucers are not glued to the actual drone system below. Also I have my saucers marked with the T'au numerals with 6 drones sharing the same number. This way I can say "The Ones belong to this unit and the Twos to this" or if I have more than 6 drones in a unit "Ones and Twos ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

In another forum I just read an interesting idea: Return of the Shas'el. The current Shas'O (Enforcer and Coldstar) becomes a Shas'el and loses his command benefits (Mont'ka and Kauyon) and gets BS 3+. The new Shas'O has only access to the Enforcer suit (no new model), Mont'ka and Kauyon work table ...

Re: 40k as Post-Apocalyptic Narrative - Are Tau the "Good Guys"?

Videogame wise I was more thinking of the Clerics from ELEX.

The weapon hogging part was meant in a way of superior firepower while anyone else went back to arrows and spears :D

Re: The Kroot need an Upgrade

I agree on that a 10000% (boy, math is hard), we don't need to have everything, we are the only faccion that only uses 1 of the 3 offensive phases of the game, and we still do great sometimes competitively wise (and with Index, before those expected changes from the Codex!). T'au is so beginner fri...

Re: Tau in Close Combat & Traditional Tau Martial Arts

If T'au had some kind of martial art it would have their origin in the fire caste thus it would be something based on pure effectivity without any form of art or bloating. Most people would imagine T'au with Katanas/Samurai Swords but these weapons emerged from a culture which saw smithing and fight...

Re: 40k as Post-Apocalyptic Narrative - Are Tau the "Good Guys"?

In a post apocalyptic setting T'au would be the religious fanatics sitting in their fortress, hogging the last fireweapons and tanks, praying sympathy while new acolytes are indoctrinated and put into classes: worker, soldiers, priests and so on. But they are too few and too far away to be a danger ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I'd just be happy already if taking non-meta models wouldn't result in an auto loss. I want to field a unit of 3 Broadsides or a small flyer squadron, Kroots as hunter (and not as meat shields) or multiple gunlines of Strike-Teams. But currently taking any of these means lowering any chances to win....
