Re: Follow-Up on the Sun Shark Bomber

As the Pulse Bombs also ignore cover and don't need LOS they are lovely to use on cover-heavy tables especially on those nearly immobile units with heavy weapons in ruins like Scouts with camo-cloaks threatening your fireblades.

Re: 50% Obscured and Cover

What? No. All models in a unit have to be in cover if you want a cover-save. Also every non-infantry model in a unit has to be obscured by at least 50%. If you have a unit of 4 vehicles all the models have to be within cover and every model has to be obscured by at least 50% from the shooters point...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

We also saw some doctrines/... with a rule saying "X happens if A is near B". This simply shouts "T'au-Sept" with all their remarkable leaders and tacticians. "Crisis near Commanders..." "Firewarriors near Ethereals..." As Sa'cea are known for urban warfare th...

Re: An interesting synergy in new AM codex

The more codices arrive the more it makes me sad. So many pretty rules I'd wish T'au would get and then I realize we wont get it because someone else already has it. I also may declare it would be too strong. There's a difference between some Guards rerolling their misses or a bunch of firewarriors....

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Funny thing, I thought the same. The merits of splitting different weapons across are, like you said, you lose all weapons equally. But think of support systems: If you put an ATS on a suit with missile pods and a flamer and do so for all 3 suits it might be wasted. If I play crisis suits I often mi...

All these guesses and theories on the upcoming codices and I just have to imagine how they just rolled some D6 to set up a sequence.

Re: Are commanders undercosted?

How? Are they different weapons? Do they get multiple entries in the weapons sheet? If this happens to us it would blow our tables. Oh God, I hate this idea so much. It is like being taxed twice: The model has a higher BS. Please pay more. Oh, your model has a higher BS? Please pay more for the weap...

Re: Effectiveness of EWO

Depends; If your enemy places his units more than 12" he loses the ability to charge the same turn and you get a whole turn of moving (away) and shooting...or even counter-charge beforehand. If he deploys in EWO range you still get your shooting. EWO = Your enemy decides if he wants to get shot...

Re: Rule question regarding Shadowsun's drones.

"She is accompanied by up to 3 Command Drones: 1 MV62 Command-Link Drone and up to 2 MV52 Shield Drones." I emphazise it: "She is accompanied by [...] Drones: 1 MV62 Command-Link Drone [...]." 1 is a 1, not 0 to 1. This is a fix number. How is it even possible to read that as an ...

Re: Have you been Overcharging your CIBs correctly?

Uhm, it is per weapon. If you got 3 CIBs on a XV8, and decide to overload all 3 of them you may get 1 mortal wound for each weapon (so up to 3). edit: I am too late. Didn't see the 2nd page. Anyway, you can lose your shooting for a model. The weapon profile clearly says the model suffers a mortal wo...

Re: Rule question regarding Shadowsun's drones.

Uhm, I think the command link drone is a must have.
It says "up to 3 drones" and "up to 2 shield drones" but not "up to 1 command link drone".
I see it as 1-3 drones and one has to be a command link drone. (So 0-2 shield drones)

Re: Have you been Overcharging your CIBs correctly?

If the target unit dies before you resolved all your shots I think you don't even have to roll any more dice and risk throwing a 1. Most people upgrading to 8th edition kept rolling dice like before and missed the small differences. In our play group, in the rule learning phase, we agreed on rolling...

You may add the Ethereals' Honour Guards to your list.

Re: Battlemat with city map (what to buy?)

I built myself a modular cityscape battlefield with roads. T-Sections, dead ends, crossings and if we place terrain on that we keep the roads mostly free (except for blockades or craters, debris etc.) and we do also like to play with the extended ruleset. Like more movement on the roads, while being...

Re: Why do drones have to take morale??

Protocol 1 - Save T'au (Saviour Protocol)
Protocol 2 - Save yourself (Morale)
Protocol 3 - Kill! Maim! Kill! (???)

T'au's Version of Asimov's laws?

P.s. I guess most people forget to roll for morale after using Saviour Protocols.
