Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I still believe that the reason the fleet disappeared is just so GW can make them appear somewhere else so T'au appear in a bigge campaign without giving them warp travel technology. I don't believe in chaos T'au at all. However what could happen is that GW lets them have some timeskip shenanigans a...

Re: Making a Brigade

Yeah the buffs stack. Sniper Drones easily reach a +2 to-hit modifier. However the guns itself are lacking punch It's just a bunch of S5 AP0 D1 hits *yawn*.

Re: What's the best support systems for a stormsurge?

Also it's only a re-roll on a 6 and you can't shoot overwatch if the enemy consolidates or piles in on the Stormsurge. It's not a bad Support System but I wouldn't replace EWO for it.

The next closest thing you are searching for would probably a modeling saw and something to hold the thing you are trying to saw apart in place.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

The fact that the tech Cawl is producing looks so similar is most likely simply because GW is re-using a lot of assets right now. Some of the stuff looks similar but works very differently. For example the Redemptor Dreadnoughts Plasma weapon looks VERY close to the Ghostkeels CIR but those two weap...

Re: Splitting fire onto drones and other units

They get resolved by choice of the one who is shooting since per the rules you resolve shot after shot. Fast dice rolling is just a short cut that doesn't always work.

Re: How will you use Shield Drones, post-FAQ?

The Leadership won't often be an issue if you're going MSU, but a large Drone squad easily can and would take significant casualties if you don't mitigate leadership in some way (a 12 man squad, for example, is going to lose an average of 3 or 4 models if you manage to kill off just half of them). ...

Longstrike is a HQ choice though.

Re: Screening units discussion

I'd say it's a toss-up between Gun Drones and Kroot, leaning toward Gun Drones. A screening unit needs to do 3 things: 1. Have sufficient numbers to cover a medium/large-sized area 2. Be durable enough to survive for a short while 3. Have some ability to overwatch Kroot are cheap and plentiful, but...

Re: Designing a Gunline

For the screening units I'd definitely go with the Gun Drones since they improve your damage output within 18" dramatically and they also get buffed by things that buff your Firewarrior. They also have the Fly keyword, so they could easily fall back and blast the threat into oblivion together w...

Current list of screening units Drones: 8ppm, high damage output, relatively durable (for a screening unit) , fly, are bodyguards for Infantry and Battlesuits . Pathfinders: 8ppm, decent damage output, average durability, markerlights , scout . Fire warriors: 8ppm, decent damage output, relatively ...

Re: New 8th FAQ

Today I learned 6*2≅8 Seriously: If you want a cheap screen, take kroot hounds. If you want a more durable screen, take drones/strike teams. If you absolutely need the scout move, take pathfinders, who cares what their purpose is, or kroot, both will do their job Ah welp I derped there. Still had t...

Re: [ATT Recommended] 500pt list help

Thanks that really takes the edge off. I can get the Start Collecting box set and then just pick up big battlesuits as I feel like building them. I swear I read that Broadsides with missiles, and all the other battlesuits, were really good. What's a good model for Longstrike? Or should I just conve...

Re: How will you use Shield Drones, post-FAQ?

They aren't almost as durable as a Marine...they are more durable than a Marine against AP-1 or better weapons (AP-2 or better when the Marine is in Cover). Against ordinary weapons though they are precisely as durable as a Marine (66.6% chance to save a wound) though Marines are much more resilien...

Re: New 8th FAQ

Way too expensive? I think you missed something here. pathfinders barely cost more than kroot. For every 4 kroot screen models, you could have 3 pathfinders. and given that pathfinders got better armor, they'll screen just as good-except the pathfidners will get a little done with their superior gu...

Re: What's the best support systems for a stormsurge?

Oh yeah I'd probably go with ATS, EWO, Shield Gen no matter what anyway.
ATS and EWO are self-explanatory and Shield Gen should be as well considering that the weapons the opponent is most likely directing at such a huge multi-wound model will punch right through most of his armor.

Re: New 8th FAQ

Gun drones cannot make a pre-game move that moves up your opponents deep striking units another 7" That's exactly what I wrote. Hell you even quoted it lol Honestly there was no point in taking kroot even before the latest FAQ. If you want the 7" pre game move take pathfinders. They have ...
