Re: Dealing with Deathguard

Pretty hard to formulate a proper tactic against an army that's basically completely new. It'll take months before most people here actually played a few times against Death Guard and know what works and what not.

What are these rules?!?

Those sound so anti-T'au it's not even funny anymore. :-(

Re: Tau Ghostkeel....is it a viable option>?

Question that i should already know the answer to. When deploying stealth suits or ghost keels. At any point but lets say i deploy first. Can i deploy within an inch of the opponents deployment zone since there is no units to be within 12" of? And then can an opponent just deploy right infront...

Re: Is Commander Farsight worth taking?

This is it. You can't risk the combat if they have something that's gonna eat you in a turn but against standard troops or noncombat guys, he could be an awesome hit and run guy. This will change depending on who you play. His main problem is that he only has 3 hardpoints. Obviously his main draw i...

Re: Sa'Cea Sept Panels

Special case: some warrior are allowed to wear an inversed color scheme because they are heroes or whateveer (so for Sa'Cea that would mean orange armor and Sept&Rank markings whatever color you decided to paint the armor of the rest of the army) With the exception of the Infiltration Cadre Bur...

Re: Sa'Cea Sept Panels

Yeah they are there but many people don't find it since they put it somewhere in the painting section inbetween. :D Shas'la = Antenna, helmet and shoulder guard in armor colour. Shas'Ui = Antenna in Sept color. Helmet in armor colour. (and middle panel of shoulder guard in Sept color if it's not a B...

If you want, I can give you a breakdown if which parts to paint in the Sept color to represent the respective rank ('la, 'ui, 'vre, 'o).

Re: New Tau Army - Where Next?

A Crisis Suit can be equipped with 3 weapons each and only 8 because he included a Drone Controller (takes up one of the 3 hardpoints on the suit) to buff the Gun Drones he included in the unit. ;)

Re: Sa'Cea Sept Panels

Okay a quick T'au painting guide: The orange is what is actually the Sa'Cea color, like the red is the Vior'la color. The Sept color is used to show to which Sept a Firecaste warrior belongs to and his rank (different combinations of antenna, helm and shoulder guard painted in the Sept color. Can be...

Re: Can you attach a spare Hammerhead turret to a devilfish??

They are the same models.
The difference is that the Devilfish comes with a nose turret and without the top turret where you attach the weapon. So you would have to get the actual turret bit from somewhere else still.

Re: Is Commander Farsight worth taking?

I think it really depends on what you will be fighting against, if you are going to come up against a lot of armies with support characters rather than super killy combat monsters then sure he can be worth taking. Your standard commander may be better with multiple guns, however if you are already ...

Re: Grav-Drones vs Charge Rerolls?

Well re-rolls are before modifier. I still think the wording is not 100% clear for re-roll effects that say "failed to-hit" or "failed charge" etc. since you can only really determine if something failed after applying modifier ... buuuut most of the community on any forum seems ...

I think without changing yout list too much I'd simply remove the Seeker Missiles on the Devilfish and the single Marker Drone in the CIB Crisis unit.

Re: Tau Ghostkeel....is it a viable option>?

Shield Drones did so incredibly well for my HRR Broadside and for my Flamer Crisis I'm seriously thinking about taking another independent unit of Shield Drones just to catch up with my Ghostkeel (since even though I'm underwhelmed by the Ghostkeel, it's still one of my favorite models so I keep usi...

Re: 2000 pts / 100 PL Balanced and no cheese

That may be true, however you can easily get the re-roll 1s with a single markerlight and the multi-tracker forces you to focus all the Commanders shooting at a single target to have any effect. Plus 4 Fusion Blaster have a higher damage potential. It's always better to nuke something important than...

Re: Tanks - what a disappointment

It would fix a lot of things. The fact that Crisis Suits and bigger Suits are too expensive as well as the Gun Drone spam. Then we just need something to fix HQ spam for every army and we're a big step closer to where we want to be. Anyway, that's not exactly this threads topic here. Nothing of that...

Re: Tanks - what a disappointment

I still think it's stupid that the cost for Saviour Protocol is included in the Battlesuits. It's not their ability. It's the Drones ability. The Drones should be more expensive so the Suits can be properly priced even if you don't take any Drones with them.
