Yeah they certainly could do that though I'd love to see them managing proper balancing without such artificial limitations.

All those advantages are nice but don't mean anything if we can't take wounds off of a Character reliably. ;)

What I tried to say before is that I don't think Sniper weapons are well done for anybody except for maybe Skitarii since those don't have to rely on 6s to deal some damage.

I'm with Yojimbob and Agent00abe there.
It's good to have emergency plans at hand but it's not something you should others tell as 'strategy' when talking about this unit. If you have to do something like that, the game went horribly wrong elsewhere already.

I feel like all Sniper should have at least AP-2 honestly. Gambling on a 6 is always annoying and especially unfitting for sniper. The Mortal wound on 6s could stay as special bonus for some but it shouldn't be the main mechanic to deal damage with. I feel like their problem with Sniper is that the...

I feel like all Sniper should have at least AP-2 honestly. Gambling on a 6 is always annoying and especially unfitting for sniper.

Yeah you have to declare which weapons shoot at which targets before you start rolling so if you want to shoot with Carbines that turn you would have to risk not getting enough Markerlights.

On an average turn my Gunrig is doing the same damage as Longstrike then once every so often the Gunrig does twice the damage of Longstrike. Well can't argue against lucky dice I guess lol Call it luck if you want but the fact is Gunrigs have a wider damage spectrum that is twice as high as longstrike allowing you to kill more 10+ wound targets in 1 turn then Longstrike which is why I rate them so highly. Double the chance per shot. That much should've been obvious. And considering that the Gunrig hits at best on 4+ re-rolling 1s while Longstrike can with less efford hit on 2+ re-rolling 1s I dare say it's still almost double the chance overall. Sure a Gunrig CAN kill a target twice as fast as Longs...

That's a lot of efford to make it worthwhile not to mention that Markerlights won't last through the whole game normally anyway. Also you're forgetting that Longstrike gets a +1 to-wound modifier against vehicles and monsters which lets him wound anything on a 2+ instead of the Gunrig's 3+ and also ...

I honestly don't see the point in using the Gunrig. Hitting on 5s with two high strength shots is terrible with the current Markerlight table.
