Re: Do Support System have their own distinct bits?

Some do, some don't.
Shield Generator would be the most obvious one of the ones who have a bit.
Target Lock has none afaik.

We have an old thread about that somewhere here on the forum...I'm sure someone will link it for you eventually. :D

Re: Help identifying this color mix palette?

Looks nice, but if you want a really good palette then you should look up how to build a wet palette (it's really simple and there are tons of videos showing how to do it on youtube).

Re: Savior Protocols and multiple mortal wound attacks

The weapon profile would read like: S AP D Abilities 5 -2 D6 This weapon deals D6 damage, on a damage roll of 3+ it does 3 mortal wounds in addition to the damage. Because of savior protocol a drone would intercept this and take a single mortal wound because there is no damage roll when using savio...

Re: Tanks - what a disappointment

Gunrigs work out better than Longstrike point per wound, however they need more support and are overall less reliable. Longstrikes BS1+ and +1 to-wound against vehicles/monsters is gold.
He still falls back compared to things like Lascannon Razorbacks but we have to deal with what we have.

Re: Savior Protocols and multiple mortal wound attacks

lways depends on the wording of the ability. If it's a single (mortal) wound that does multiple damage you can let a Drone soak up all of it for a single mortal wound in return. If it's an ability that deals multiple (mortal) wounds you would have to 'sacrifice' a Drone to each (mortal) wound. The w...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Yeah T'au aren't too terrible popularity-wise and since we just recently got some new models they wouldn't have to worry about any models missing or something like that. They only need to write the Codex and throw it out (not that they wouldn't do it with factions with old models as well but still).

Re: Tau saviour protocol FAQ

Hi there, this is my first post and I just recently started with Warhammer 40,000 and the T'au. Since I am switching back and forth between an english and a german rule book, I would like to ask for clarification regarding the saviour protocols. Am I right in assuming that using the saviour protoco...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Also interesting that the rumour about AM/T'au next didn't turn out to be true unfortunately. Well actually... T'au could still be the first codex after AM in early October. They've just deviated from the 1-2-1-2-etc release, they could just be going into a 1-1-1 release every 3 weeks instead of ev...

Re: Tanks - what a disappointment

The Tigershark also is way more mobile after the initial drop of the Commander and can't get charged unless the unit has the FLY keyword. It has its advantages for sure but as always it's hard to compare with a deep striking HQ with 4 Melta, FLY keyword, decent survivability and so low point cost. ...

Re: Coldstar or 4 FB?

Both, really. Both are good and both have their place in an army. It just depends what you are lacking. You are lacking both, mobility and anti-tank with the units you listed but Longstrike + Railgun Hammerheads can do okay-ish for anti-tank duty I guess. Just make sure to magnetize your regular Com...

Re: Gun Drone's number of shots

No, they have 4 shots. Two Carbines with 2 shots each = 4 shots. It's as simple as it sounds. ;) And yes, Burst cannons aren't worth taking over Gun Drones on vehicles. I mentioned it before, but you do have to potentially factor in an additional Kill Point with drones on vehicles if you play that ...

Re: Gun Drone's number of shots

Nah, I think they just misjudged how to spread the point costs. They probably thought Drones will get sacrificed or Battlesuits most of the time anyway so they can't be expensive or people would rather take more Suits instead. And because the ability to give away wounds is so powerful they made Suit...

Re: Modeling Tau Females - a discussion

If your ignore the nasal slit, then the shape of the head would tell you whether the model was male or female. The first two heads are rectangular and therefore male, and since Shadowsun's face is oval shaped, that she is female. But when you think about judging sex by the shape of nasal slit that ...

Re: Tanks - what a disappointment

Not a tank. Not a Codex unit. And definitely not within Hammerhead pricing range. BUT. The Tigershark AX-1-0 IS capable of removing a Landraider turn one. And my regular opponent now hates that plane because of it. It's the same cost as Longstrike plus two Hammerheads. It hits on 2+ just like Longs...
