Re: Markerlight shooting and timing

Initial BS4+ is perfectly fine though imo. T'au are fluff-wise physically worse than your average human, inlcuding sight. That's why they don't do melee and why they invented all the tech to help them. It's just that our Markerlight table sucks. I can only repeat myself but if we had a +1 to-hit as ...

Re: Please link 8th edition video battle reports here

T'au vs SM (UM) - 1850p, mixed style https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Flp00pd4EY A lot of mistakes in that one though. Like wtf is up with the Commander having a Cyclic Ion Raker with 6 shots S8 (no he didn't roll a d6 to determine the shots even)? Or with allocating wounds to Drones after making t...

Re: XV8 Flamer Discussion

Less niche than our best unit? Not sure I agree there. Just because something is niche doesn't mean it's bad lol Not saying it's bad, saying it's not niche. "Niche" means having a small range of applications or is used by a small group of people. The 4x Fusion Blaster Commander is actuall...

Re: Tidewall and Embarked Models

Thats not quite right. Even if someone uses AP-3 weapons we can still throw for reflects because in 8th edition, modifiers apply after your roll. So we throw our save -> on a 6 it is reflected -> apply modifiers (6-3=3) -> check that modified save with the Sv value in the Dataslate (3 is not 4+) ->...

Re: An interesting application of Longstrike's hull shape and terrain.

You are considered to be in or on terrain if you are touching the building with your vehicle. So in OP's picture, he is in cover. The HH is 50% obscure, and he is touching the rock (in or on terrain). But yea, in this edition if you are shooting a vehicle you only need to be able to have a tread, f...

RockManAlcor wrote:One thing I didn't understand about markerlights is the counters: do they stay like in 7th ed. or do they get removed after the phase is over? (sorry if this question has been asked already in another topic, i couldn't find it!)

It's only for that one phase of course.

Re: Tau Artillery

Because I read some Forgeworld leaks I just remembered there is one more option: the TX7 Heavy Bombardment Hammerhead Gunship. It's basically a HYMP/SMS Broadside just as Hammerhead for ~80p more (so in game terms: less armor, more toughness and wounds, better accuracy, more mobile but no Drone Supp...

Re: Equiping Ghostkeel

Haha, I noticed that when I was putting mine together but I REALLY didn't feel like I'd be swapping the main weapon (HRC), let alone the Tri-Axis Ions, so I just fixed them on. I can't see myself ever wanting to use the Fusion Eradicator, mind you, it does look absolutely amazing. As for Ghostkeel,...

Re: Stimulant injector + sense of stone?

Interesting. Stimulant Injector talking specifically about "suffers a wound" while Sense of Stone talking specifically about "suffers an unsaved wound" So the flowchart would be: get hit -> get wound -> check SI -> if SI fails roll Sv -> if Sv fails roll 'Sense of Stone' -> if S...

Glarblar wrote:I always assumed it was necron. as is the Dawn blade origin: Necron

That's not 100% clear. There are things that point towards Necrons and some things that point towards Eldar. And then there are people who claim it might be of Daemon origin but that one is pretty ridiculous imo. :D
