Re: 8th Ed FORGEWORLD Tau

After doing some math, I've come to this conclusion: - Fire Support HH with Twin HBC and 2x SMS costs 25% less than a similar-equipped Riptide, fires 33% more S6 AP-1 shots and has BS3+, but has less durability (worse armour, no invul and no drones) and no ATS. Worth it? - Heavy Bombardment HH with...

Re: 3rd Draft Army List - 2000pts

The only real downside to the CIB is the AP-1. That one can really make a difference. Luckily the higher strength and number of shots equals it out most times.

Re: 8th Ed FORGEWORLD Tau

Do GW actually do ANY quality control/public testing before releasing stuff? It seems like they just throw it all together and cross their fingers? It's FW, not GW. I assume GW gave them the informations how the Indices and 8th as a whole are supposed to look like way too late and FW decided to rus...

Re: 8th Ed FORGEWORLD Tau

That's even more ridiculous. FW really didn't do themselves a favor by rushing the Index. :D

Re: Drone Morale

Yeah they should have an additional special rule to make them immune while being near a parent unit. However adding this to all the things that Drones should be able to do and already are able to do then Gun Drones would probably end up costing like 20ppm. :D

Re: Fun at 1000 points

But Burst Cannons without ATS are really bad. So I'd only take the VT in a unit with two ATS/BC or in a unit with a FB. ^^

Re: Drone Morale

The Battleshock test at the end of the turn doesn't necessarily represent the models running away. I doubt morale will be that much of an issue unless the enemy has specific morale affecting special rules like fear or such. Unless you bring giant Drone units you'd need to lose almost the whole unit ...

Re: Manta strike on sparse boards

Well that's called tactic and positioning. It would be boring if deep strike were a nobrainer. Now you gotta have to make some room for them to arrive (like before, but now they actually can land where they aim to lol). The player controlling the deep striking units cannot use positioning to make r...
