Re: 2k Tournament List, Final Tweaks

HQ - XV84 Commander w/ 3x Missile Pods, Networked Markerlight (155)

The XV84 only has 2 slots, so max 2 pods. But otherwise, great tweaks on that list! :)

Re: 2k Tournament List, Final Tweaks

Looks pretty good, I like the vespids addition to save on points but bulk up the drops when a Y'vahra is in the list (usually in a Yvahra list there are very few deepstrikers). Would love to hear how the tournament plays out. Please update with your matches and how it went. Having said that, I think...

Re: 2000 points competitive tournament list

Can't deny the brutal efficiency of that list. With AM in the ascendency I can see why the massed missile pod commanders are so valuable. It would be interesting to hear how that game went because just from looking at the list it almost looks designed to blow a hole in the units (probably mortar te...

Re: Competitive 2000 point list

Shielded missile drones are a waste of points. Bring a bunch of shield drones instead for the same points and better protection. Coldstars would pair better with the y'vahras to be able to fly around and grab objectives. If you want regular manders, bring at least one fusion commander. I think you a...

Re: Flamers vs. Burst cannons

No you are not. Not everything is about a turn 1 Alpha strike and even if it were Burst Cannons wouldn't be a good choice for that anyway. Burst cannons can manta strike and shoot, so they are categorically a better choice for that. Flamers are too dependant on stealth teams which can die if you do...

Re: Local tournament winning list

Well made list. Congrats on the win! I'm curious if you've ever faced a gunline with this list and had your pathfinders nuked turn 1. Does that happen? Also how are you finding the missile pod Crisis suits? Would you rather take CIB and have more flexibility with outputting volume or overcharging? O...

Re: 2000 Point TAC List

This is a nice, well balanced list. Pretty cool! I like the variety you have, it'll be hard to deal with everything efficiently for any list. I think you can make it even better with a few tweaks. Firstly, I think your one stealth team is a bit overloaded. You don't really need the homing beacon as ...

Re: Thunderstrike Challenge Contingent: 2000pt ITC List

One, how does the Disembark rule lead to a turn of lost pressure? Because you have to disembark at the beginning of your movement. So you have to disembark then move your devilfish. This means the first turn you cannot disembark and be in range with your drones. That means first turn all you're doi...

Re: 2000 points competitive - stormsurge gimmick

In my experience the regular conscripts + scions + arty also isn't that great against this list because the SS are so insanely tanky with SGs+drones and conscripts can be cleared pretty quickly. Wut? Drones can't take wounds for your stormsurges. They are not battlesuits. How exactly are your SS ta...

Re: 2.1k Competitive Flyers, Seekers, and Commanders

Easy fix for your problem regarding keeping a backline unit. Get a Firesight Marksman and sit him out of LoS in ruins for 24 points. He has a 2+ in ruins AND he's a character. So your tigersharks will always tank for him. He can take potshot markerlights on things as well. Your only concern then wou...

Re: Thunderstrike Challenge Contingent: 2000pt ITC List

I like the idea of drone spam, I had a similar list in mind but with just 3 devilfish full of drones and more commanders. However, the disembark rules really make you lose out on a whole turn of pressure which I didn't want to deal with. I also think multicharging melee units like big squads of khor...

Re: 2000pts - All suits + pathfinders

Yeah the flamer suits are pointless without stealth suits with homing beacons. Better off making them CIB or even 2xBC + ATS suits so you can shoot when you come down.

Thanks for the detailed report!

I'm adding 3-4 Coldstars in every list now. The objective grabbing and charge potential against gunlines is just too good.

And yeah, agreed about fusion commanders. At least 1 is necessary in any list.

Re: 2000pts - Competitive

I think missile commanders can be a trap unless you take atleast 4 of them. If you do the math, 2 won't be enough to take out even a Rhino on average. On top of that they are the most expensive loadout. I've had real success using 1 and 2 Commanders w/ 3xMP+ATS. They can't knock out vehicles by the...

Re: Xv9 with DBBC is anything better point for point?

The only downside i see for XV9s now is the drones potential in comparison with the XV8s. A team of 3 can only be accompanied by 4 drones, and that is somewhat a weakness. Still, having 4 shield drones with them really works wonders. Field them as singles, you can then take 4 drones per suit. It's ...

Re: 2000pts - Competitive

My only markerlight source is the drone squads which will probably get shot off the board turn 1, mixing them with gun drones with the deepstriking squads guaranteeds i can get the reroll 1s for the alpha strike. Missile commander i also think it poor, lacking the str and ap of the cib commanders. ...

Breachers are safe in transport but vespids are safe in reserves.

Deepstrike them into ruins for t4 3+ save. They'll do very well.

Re: Cadre Fireblades: Our true Markerlights

Actually, I think your into something here. Consider this; the drone port rule Drone Control Systems states that when a T'au Empire Infantry unit activates the docked drones, those drone may use that units BS in place of its own. There is no mention of for how long, such as "the turn they're a...
