Re: Giving FNP to gunrigs

3. Model or Unit... . ... Drat! The "What is a Unit" question is one that has been bouncing around for several editions. So far, there is no satisfactory answer. Its a bit on a mean card to play given the discussion, but one to keep in mind. Might be worth checking the FAQ's to see if the...

Re: Giving FNP to gunrigs

Another month, another funny interaction of rules... The Tau Gunrig though, does have a Faction, because it has the Tau symbol on its datasheet (War Zone Damocles Kauyon p193). Next we will establish that they are models. In Rulebook p8 Models & Units, the only language that actually defines wh...

Re: Gathering Storm 2: Fracture of Biel-Tan

I read on BolterAndChainsword that GW said on the 40k facebook page in a comment that it is not Malys. Guess we'll have to wait and read for ourselves once it's there. We'll see, even if its not Malice, I suspect it is a Dark Eldar. Stylistically it looks apt, although that does look like souls sto...

Also, loving the detail of the soul stones within the energy/soul/whatever vortex around this thing.

Re: Gathering Storm 2: Fracture of Biel-Tan

The most interesting part about it for me is that the Avatar looks so similar to Fulgrim/Slaanesh. I doubt GW chose those colors etc. by accident so i'm looking forward to where this will lead us. It's not just similar, its entire theme is what we would typically attribute to a Slaanesh Demon (i.e....

Re: Need Help Building a 200pt Tau Kill Team?

yup, every model, even ones taken as wargear, counts as a separate unit. When attached, the attached drone rules in the codex take over for firing/moving etc, but they are embarked units so count as models for break tests. Makes the Piranha REALLY cheap in KT, as it is three units.

Re: Need Help Building a 200pt Tau Kill Team?

If taking a suit, I'd look at the indomitable traits, FnP and eternal warrior will help it survive without shields or stimms. They're quite the point sink in KT, but worth it, as the lone Lascannon/melta will be aimed at it all game. If upgrading to the 'Vre, consider taking gun drones. Alternativly...

Re: Kill Team BoxSet

I think my kill team will be 10 Breachers, a SMS support turret & a Devilfish, with disruption pod & sensor spines. Not sure how good that is in all honestly, the D'fish, takes up half the points! But it is fairly sturdy at least! :P The only trick in my kill team, is the turret. Instead of...

Re: Kill Team BoxSet

I can see a whole or near whole Drone Kill team to be quite effective. Take a Crisis suit as the leader and to fill any high str/low AP requirements, makes an entire jet pack kill team without going full battlesuit. Works from a fluff pov as the specialist traits could be easily done as "specia...
