Re: [WIP] Spec Ops Tau - SWA Kill Team

Since SWA allows for a gunslinger I've been thinking about how I'd want to do a build for it and I wanted something that reminds me of Cad Bane from the Clone Wars series. After digging through a number of cowboy models I could use as a base I settled on the gunslinger model from Icarus, but unfortu...

Re: [WIP] Spec Ops Tau - SWA Kill Team

I did some more tinkering with the burst cannon mount, the earlier version I thought looked a bit Guppy like and a bit rounded in the belly. Tried a new take on it to see if a slightly flatter dome would help. It pushes the burst cannon forward a bit which could make it slightly more aggressive look...

Re: [WIP] Spec Ops Tau - SWA Kill Team

I decided to put the Recon drone to the knife and shortened the cylinder, just leaving the end to act as a turret mount for the burst cannon. What would also work is to use the chin turret from a Piranha as I did some test fitting and it's almost the same exact size. It's about 1mm wider but it'd pa...

[WIP] Spec Ops Tau - SWA Kill Team

Tossing my hat in the ring with SWA as I've been waiting almost 20 years for 40k to have this sort of format. Kill Team has been close but it's also a bit wonky with their unit construction and using the Necromunda rules set as the foundation is a major win IMO. SWA will give me ample opportunity to...

[Resource] Shadow Ops & Kill Team parts

Since Shadow War Armageddon offers so many opportunities for modeling unique infantry characters I thought it would be good to create a resource for cataloging ideas for various bits that can be used within kill teams. If people want to list parts they are finding useful we can compile a set of imag...

Re: Necromunda/shadow war: tau rules

I'm waiting to give the book a proper read through before I make any decisions about building a Tau force. They seem to be handicapped in a few areas but I don't know all of the specifics about how cover and skills work which could have a big impact on how they play. The units appear to be following...

Re: WIP Shadow War Armageddon Pics...

If you're worried about the height on the recon drone you could always shorten the part that hangs down. I'll probably be doing that with mine as it's always looked weird to me. I know it's meant to fit inside the devilfish turret but it just looks awkward IMO. I do like the ammo feed you added and ...

Re: Necromunda/shadow war: tau rules

I think the reasoning for pathfinders is that these are meant to be skirmish level advance scout forces. The marines don't have their signature power armor units they have access to space marine scouts so it's in the same vein as pathfinders instead of firewarriors. Your selection of models isn't re...

Drantakh - potential alien ally models

The Drantakh models have been around for a while but they recently changed hands and Badger Games is expanding their range with more unit types. They were done by Bob Olley of oldschool GW fame and IMO with a few weapon swaps and other gear would make excellent models to use as an allied alien race....
