Re: Breachers are still good

[quote="Shas'Bro"]MWG just put up a videorep with a new guy using breachers. He was able to get one squad into position and nuke a venerable Dreadnought over a turn and two overwatches. I had a game against grey knights where he deep struck a dread knight right next to my breacher team. I ...

Re: Broadside Missile Rifle conversion question/help needed

If you wedge a small piece of green stuff between the two parts you can level it out when glueing and then trim the excess green stuff when dry.

Cut it as straight as you can then square it off with a small file.

Re: Points will not be adjusted outside of Codex/Chapter Approved books

Points will definitely be adjusted in FAQs but I doubt that GW would release a full list of adjusted points, too much potential to sell new books. :P

Re: Alternative Firesight Marksman

True, I guess it makes sense from a rules standpoint to use drones. I wish we had a better sniper unit, or if they felt a mortal wound on a 6+ like most other snipers.

Alternative Firesight Marksman

I'm not a fan of the firesight marksman model (or the price :P ) so o decided to kitbash my own. The next step is to model some fire warriors with upgraded rifles and perhaps capes. My idea is the marksman is the veteran that directs the fire of the younger less experienced snipers. http://i.imgur.c...

As shown, "tactics" are powerful stuff.

Well, there is supposed to be 10 codexes released this year, as there are 16 armies in 40k we have a 63% chance of receiving a codex. However GW has already announced the first four codexes so our chances drop to 50%.

Seriously though, in a few month the winter release codexes will be leaking everywhere.

Re: Retooling the Ghostkeel: My request to GW

I don't know, I usually field my keel with a CIR, BC, ATS, and a drone controller. Then I set it up with a cloud of gun/marker drones. This combined "unit" can easily take and hold a midfield objective. The -2 to hit and all the drones means the keel is pretty durable. However I feel like ...

I don't feel nostalgic because 8th is still new and isn't fully released yet. The codexes are still coming.

Re: Expanding my new Cadre?

If you buy the coldstar/commander kit and build the coldstar you can use the extra "normal" commander bits to beef up a standard xv8. Putting it on a flying stand makes it taller and easier to recognize as a commander.

Re: XV8s - From Theory to Tabletop

My favorite so far is 2 plasma and a flamer with the Shas getting two flamers and a drone controller. Good at taking down TEQs and the overwatch is very effective.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

With the 6+ mortal wound (which I believe most other sniper units have) I would almost be tempted to drop the 40 bucks. Or convert normal drones.

Re: Ultramarines Chapter Tactics spotted!

Well... each sept will probably have it's own tactic so lets look at the ones we currently have in the index and speculate about others they may add GW: Farsight Enclaves- combat buff T'au Sept- shooting buff Vior'la Sept- ??? FW: Dal'yth- ??? Ke'lshan- ??? Vior'la could be either a movement or tou...

Re: Ultramarines Chapter Tactics spotted!

The tau tactic could be: all "SEPT" units with the fly keword may make an additional movement in the assault phase. That would be super nice for mobility.

Re: Manta strike on sparse boards

If your opponent is prepared it can be hard to get where you want to deep strike/manta drop. The main advantage in my opinion is you can "hide" the units you put in the manta. I have left a single coldstar commander in the manta until late game when I drop him on an enemy objective, which ...
