Re: Multiple targeting and overcharge

Cool thanks for that but to the second part of my question can I split the overcharged shooting with standard or do all weapons have to be fired on the same profile? It goes like this: my commander is going to be firing two overcharged CIBs at unit A and two normal CIBs at unit B, then roll the ove...

Re: Citadel Paint: The App

Useful, but GW paint guides always disappoint me. The steps they give and colors the use more often than not lead to something that looks nothing like the display miniature. Only time the hides have ever been complete is in the eavy metal masterclasses. Agreed, I just downloaded it for the chance t...

Re: 1k Points, help me finish!

I would go with something like this: +++ New Roster (Warhammer 40,000 8th Edition) [53 PL, 1000pts] +++ ++ Battalion Detachment +3CP (T'au Empire) ++ + HQ + Cadre Fireblade: Markerlight, 2x MV1 Gun Drone Commander in XV86 Coldstar Battlesuit: Advanced targeting system, High-output burst cannon, Miss...

Re: 1k Points, help me finish!

What other models do you have to work with in your army?

Re: Flamers vs. Burst cannons

No you are not. Not everything is about a turn 1 Alpha strike and even if it were Burst Cannons wouldn't be a good choice for that anyway. Burst cannons can manta strike and shoot, so they are categorically a better choice for that. Flamers are too dependant on stealth teams which can die if you do...

Re: Are commanders undercosted?

I refuse to use commander spam because my gaming group is allergic to cheese.

In all seriousness they will be nerfed hard when the codex comes out and you would be stuck with a bunch of expensive models.

Re: What should I use as Farsights sword?

I saw a converted commander that used a wraith sword that looked quite nice. Maybe hit up a local eldar player for some bits?

Re: Question to the Fight Phase

It says in this warhammer community article that models can only come within 1" of the target. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/05/01/new-warhammer-40000-charge-phasegw-homepage-post-4/ In the rule book it says you may then pile in to lock up other units. However, I believe that if you ...

Re: Tanks - what a disappointment

I think that we need to remember that railguns have a 72" range compared to the lascannons 48", at long range my money is on the hammerhead.

Re: Question to the Fight Phase

The pathfinders would be drawn into combat, but they cannot be the target of any CC attacks and they can hit the termagaunts back. The pathfinders also get a pile in move. In the next combat phase (your turn) they may be killed in CC if they remain. However you can only charge units you declared a c...

Re: Savior Protocols and multiple mortal wound attacks

The weapon profile would read like: S AP D Abilities 5 -2 D6 This weapon deals D6 damage, on a damage roll of 3+ it does 3 mortal wounds in addition to the damage. Because of savior protocol a drone would intercept this and take a single mortal wound because there is no damage roll when using savio...

Re: Savior Protocols and multiple mortal wound attacks

I believe the steps for savior protocol go as follows: 1. Roll to hit 2. Roll to wound 3. Allocate the wound to a nearby drone 4. The wound is turned into a single mortal wound regardless of its original damage 5. The drone takes a mortal wound 6. Shield drones may make a 5+ FNP so if there was a we...

Re: what to buy next

Our normal troops when used properly do really well with volume of fire, same with our drones. If you don't like commanders do you feel the same about crisis suits? Flamer suits seem to be extremely popular when paired with stealths and a beacon. I like our pathfinders for a markerlight and extra s...

Re: Crisis and Stealth Suit Loadouts

i have been running a six man group of stealth suits with 4 BC and ATS and 2 FB. i typically infiltrate them close to a transport or blob of infantry, then i attempt to blow up the transport from range with long strike and finish it off with the FBs. then the BCs open up on the infantry either in th...

what to buy next

so, i currently have around 2000 points and am looking to expand. I know that riptides are not super great right now and i am also not a fan of the stomsurge (aka the chicken suit). I'm looking for some fresh input as local tau players are suggesting either commander spam (not my style) or stormsurg...
