Re: Onmyou's Motivation Service

I missed whatever short term goal I had, but my long term is still good. Have everything finished before the codex. I finished my objective markers today, and made progress on the last of my drones. The firesight marksman needs some dry brushing and his base finished. After that, a broadside that’s ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

11 months for the Ork codex. No way. Not at the rate of 2 per month. GW is going strong! They are not slowing down. Thousands sons early next month, hopefully followed by Tau late February. Space wolves in August also seems super late. Yeah I don't think I believe this one. Sources suggest that all...

Re: Riptide support systems (new player)

I have 3 Riptides. Got my 3rd at the end of 7th. I’ve played 1 game with two of them, and despite the poor turn 1( had Keyon active but rolled oh so poor, and 5 markerlights) both Riptides did great.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

So the Fire Prism may be a good example of what we can expect. Overall they are very similar platforms. Same Toughness, only a difference of 1 wound. Fire Prisms have slightly longer move, but the weapon is shorter range as well. It has a single fire weapon with high Strength, high AP, and d6 Damag...

I invert the color scheme for my commanders. Helps for them to stand out.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

With this discussion of overwatch, something occurred to me. I tend to run my Flamer XV8s with their drones in front, to soak charges, but... it's easy for a clever opponent to charge your Gun Drones from ~7" away, meaning the XV8s are out of range due to the size of the Gun Drone bases. Could...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Sure we have tools to protect from combat and stuff. But Overwatch isn’t that great. I don’t count on many kills from it. And screening units are fine. But I still prefer distance over a screening unit of drones. Make them come to me. And they can always just shoot the screen first. A 3 man Crisis t...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Sure we can bait a charge. But do you really want the assault terminators charging your Flamer Crisis team. Overwatch will do next to nothing and you’ll most likely loose the entire team. Or if you drop within Melta of a Ork Trukk. Bust it open just to have the Boyz bust ya ‘eds in combat. Let’s sa...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Ok, so basically its all about avoiding close combat. So my question is..... why? Doesn't that completely invalidate the one army wide special ability we have? Sure we only hit on 6s, but we can put out a lot of shots using For The Greater Good from multiple units. Also, if you are really that worr...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

JSJ allowed us to move, shoot at something and then jump back either behind cover or out of line of sight. With short range weapons especially, that was a pretty critical thing. Not to be obtuse, but why is this critical in 8th? Most cover doesn't work unless you are Infantry, and being out of LOS ...

Re: markerlights helping own unit

I roll 1 at a time until I get my first hit. Then I usually roll the rest, as the first hit is all that matters, unless my pathfinders moved. Then I roll 2 at a time until I have 3 hits. Then you can roll the rest.

Here is what I got. Mobile shield gen. Gun rack. Pile of guns. Ion tower. Power core. And ammo crates. http://i.imgur.com/mBf6u8c.jpg Odd, I can't seem to place the big, round, flat bit of tech with the Tau logo on it on your right most token. Where is it from? It is part of the Stormsurge’s Pulse ...
