Re: Painting gold

I definitely recommend Retributor Armour + Reikland Fleshshade like in this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HOLM7dXiyk Never got better results painting gold this easily! Not sure in which region you live but I found Retributor Armour on the german, US and UK pages of the GW webshop. Don...

Painting gold

Hi people! I have a little problem in painting the gold parts of our battlesuits. Now I use Gehenna gold and Auric armour gold but the results are pretty crappy. I saw people using Retributor armour, but this paint is not available in my FLGS and even not on GW site. What gold do you use? Any sugges...

Re: Stealth suit unit size-3 or 6?

I usually use a combo of 6 XV25 (2xFusion, 4xBurst) + 2 Shield drones and homing beacon and Shadowsun with MV52 and MV 62. I always use the infiltrator ability to field them near objectives. Depending how my opponent deployed I try to go near to use the homing beacon or stay on place and wait for a ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I've now played quite a few games on 8th and think we desperately need a new codex . Whilst I am enjoying playing tau in doubles where our deficiencies are less obvious, I am finding the limitation of what we can bring to be even remotely competitive annoying. It's fun how different are the opinion...

It's a mobile platform with a Supremacy Rail gun, Heavy 2.

Tanks - what a disappointment

So by now I played six 8th ed games. 4 times against Ultamarines with 3 victory and 1 defeat (had the last shot to win, but failed) and 2 times against Adeptus Mechanicus with 2 wins. In every battle I used Longstirke, and in 5 of 6 battles one more Hammerhead, every time with Rail, one with Ion. Ju...

Two questions regarding Mont'ka and Kauyon

I have two questions about Mont'ka and Kauyon.

1. Does Mont'ka and Kauyon buffs the model triggering it or just friendly units around the model.

2. What actually Mont'ka does? As far as I see it's great to advance and shoot with non assault weapon and without penalty? Am I right?

Re: 1st 8th edition game - Tau v Harlequins 1500pts

I'm really interested how the Missile pod Commander worked? I'm planning to test one these days. It seems like a super useful unit to jump around, be outside rapid fire and some guns range.

Thanks for the suggestion! It is helpful. I was actually thinking to put a pistol, but gave up when I realized that there is no bit like this.

Re: Question regarding wounding

Exactly. Every weapon that is in range by the time you declare your target unit can kill something (as long as there are enough things to kill in that unit of course ^^ ). So basically unit A can see part of the head of one model from a 10 model unit B that is hidden behind a rock and all of the un...

Re: Question regarding wounding

Yes, right. I don't like it. It's counter intuitive that you can shoot a model that is behind a big wall and thick wall. It's more difficult to hide in this version it seems. It surely speed things up, but in a weird way. So basically, once shots have been declared, there's no re-checking LoS or ra...

Re: Battles of the A'kish Vior'la Cadre

Yeah, makes sense. I was wondering why no one here talks about Airbursting FP. Just one point more then flames, deal the same amount of damage, but gives 10" more range and shooting even if not visible. It seems a really big deal to use ruins and terrain to hide and shoot.

Re: Question regarding wounding

The rules specifically says that you must have visibility of the model, not unit. You shoot at a unit, but models from this unit must be in range and visible.

I still didn't used flamers for my crisis and planning to play against Nids. What's the thoughts here? 3 Flamers or 2 Flamers and ATS?
