It's a mobile platform with a Supremacy Rail gun, Heavy 2.

Tanks - what a disappointment

So by now I played six 8th ed games. 4 times against Ultamarines with 3 victory and 1 defeat (had the last shot to win, but failed) and 2 times against Adeptus Mechanicus with 2 wins. In every battle I used Longstirke, and in 5 of 6 battles one more Hammerhead, every time with Rail, one with Ion. Ju...

Two questions regarding Mont'ka and Kauyon

I have two questions about Mont'ka and Kauyon.

1. Does Mont'ka and Kauyon buffs the model triggering it or just friendly units around the model.

2. What actually Mont'ka does? As far as I see it's great to advance and shoot with non assault weapon and without penalty? Am I right?

Re: 1st 8th edition game - Tau v Harlequins 1500pts

I'm really interested how the Missile pod Commander worked? I'm planning to test one these days. It seems like a super useful unit to jump around, be outside rapid fire and some guns range.

Re: Aun'Shi conversion

Thanks for the suggestion! It is helpful. I was actually thinking to put a pistol, but gave up when I realized that there is no bit like this.

Re: Question regarding wounding

Exactly. Every weapon that is in range by the time you declare your target unit can kill something (as long as there are enough things to kill in that unit of course ^^ ). So basically unit A can see part of the head of one model from a 10 model unit B that is hidden behind a rock and all of the un...

Re: Question regarding wounding

Yes, right. I don't like it. It's counter intuitive that you can shoot a model that is behind a big wall and thick wall. It's more difficult to hide in this version it seems. It surely speed things up, but in a weird way. So basically, once shots have been declared, there's no re-checking LoS or ra...

Re: Battles of the A'kish Vior'la Cadre

Yeah, makes sense. I was wondering why no one here talks about Airbursting FP. Just one point more then flames, deal the same amount of damage, but gives 10" more range and shooting even if not visible. It seems a really big deal to use ruins and terrain to hide and shoot.

Re: Question regarding wounding

The rules specifically says that you must have visibility of the model, not unit. You shoot at a unit, but models from this unit must be in range and visible.

I still didn't used flamers for my crisis and planning to play against Nids. What's the thoughts here? 3 Flamers or 2 Flamers and ATS?

Re: Question regarding wounding

When resolving the attacks for each model/weapon the range and LoS doesn't matter anymore apparently. We had this question come up at my store the other day. Imagine a Devastator squad, with 4 unique weapons, fires at an enemy squad. In that enemy squad, only one model is visible to the Devastators...

Aun'Shi conversion

I'm waiting for Aun'Shi to come and was wondering what can I do for this hand. I really don't like this pointed fingers so I would like to make something else. Was searching the net and forum for some good conversions, but didn't found anything.

Someone have an idea?

Re: New 8th FAQ

For the points I'd rather put Remoras in the same slot, since they're not Supersonic they're a lot easier to position, and are handy as a screening unit against charges. You also get more Seekers for your buck. Because of the challenges of flying at Supersonic (and bombing infantry underfoot) bette...

Re: New 8th FAQ

As with everything, you have to put up enough pressure so the opponent has to divide his shooting between all your threats. This. Target saturation is key, don't let the enemy just think your Broadside is a threat, or just your Sunshark, or just your Hammerhead, or just your Markerlights. They have...

Re: New 8th FAQ

I'm waiting for my Sunshark box to come and can't wait to field it. But I'm somehow worried that a model that costs almost 200 points and needs to fly through enemy lines will be shot almost instantly. Is it even worth to put it in the army? As far as I see now, it will be crucial to attack with him...
