Crazy orca tactic that just might work

Ok, hear me out. I saw someone who was saying that the only use for an orca would be to stick 64 drones and a cadre fireblade in it. But it got me thinking. What if you put not only gun drones but also sniper drones in it (like 20 or 30), a firesight marksman and an XV8 team with one or two drone co...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

It was a rule from before he didn't have many firewarriors and no alien or ethereal support battlesuit were 1+ and in his breakaway codex I'm sure they were troops He did indeed have that rule. I never understood why though. I also never understood why crisis suits couldn't be used as troops in tau...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

There is probably no Sept which would justify stealth suits as troops. Using more of them than usual, certainly. But not as troops. Also, always wondering what justifies XV8 as troops for farsight? Besides rule of cool. Did he conquer a Forgeworld or is his enclave exceptional rich? Having broken w...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

They hate xenos armies so much that they released incredible new T'au kits, crazy new Eldar subfaction characters, and an entire new gimmick army based on an old concept that was a real gamble on its success just out of spite. Not even counting the re-editing of old Eldar characters to go with the ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Every month is a tad-bit overstatement, and if you ever start a space marine faction I think you will realize that only a fraction of these "space marine models coming out every month" is actually relevant for your particular colour of SM. :D This is so important to remember! There are a ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

The problem with asking for patience is that I see space marine models come out practically every month. I want that. So go collect imperial soup? Though I have heard if you play space Marines for too long your soul will start to seep out of your body bit by bit in sheer disgust  :dead: ;) Tha...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

They haven't released a single tau kit ever since I started playing. And that was in 2016 if I'm not mistaken. But that's just how 40K releases work. :D There are factions (imperial and chaos too) that have not seen a model release for far longer. Warhammer 40K has currently so many factions that i...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

What caught my eye was the "one or two". I'm not sure about other parts of the world, but where I'm from "one or two" is an understatement that implies a large number of things. Edit: Depends how you say it of course. I bet the GW poster is British, so, how is "one or two&q...

Can someone translate that to formal English?

Sure!

"We never said 2018 would be the 'Year of the Xenos.' Who said that?

This year many codexes will be released, and many Xenos codexes too."

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

I have a related doubt; when a Marine's Doctor (I don't remember the name) revives one dead model of a unit still on the board: the points must be payed for that model? No that's free because you pay for that in the price of the apothecary Revivals are free, new models cost points. This is consista...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

Nah, you only payed for one so you only get one. You payed for the ability to place a turret, which belongs to the unit. If you split the unit, each model inherits the unit's abilities. Except that just can't be the case. You pay for one turret, the options text explains the unit can take one turre...

I'm pretty sure that would break things such as breachers with tactical support turrets. Do each of them get thei...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

If we assume that mont'ka and kau'yon will become stratagems, JSJ could always be a monat thing: Monat (???CP) Chose a unit with a single model and less than 10 wounds That unit can move, shoot, move, shoot, move, shoot I'd pay 5 CP for that Haha, that would just make Commanders even better :D The ...

The sun shark and the other shark both have targeting arrays and BS 4+ :/

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Hammerheads are BS 3+. And devilfish are indeed BS 4+. What? When did that happen? Since they got rid of targetting array as a vehicle mod in like 5th. Hammerhead and skyray are bs3+. Piranha, devilfish, and flyers are bs4+. The good flyers are BS3/BS2 :P And I've used hammerheads and skyrays as BS...
