Re: A'kish Vior'la Cadre

Gosh I love the way you have posed your RIPtide :P Have you done any major modifications to it to achieve such a striking pose? Also in second picture I love how the middle crisis suit has a two tone body paint. Is that to differentiate a team leader from the rest of the suits? I hope you won't get ...

Re: Off topic section? Suggestion

Mess Hall... Yeah no wonder that whole discussion went to hell :P The name itself could easily subconsciously affect people on what they were writing about on that discussion. Nvm about that now. I would myself support such idea if it only would be somewhat easy to follow. I mean the discussion may ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I doubt all SC boxes will be updated. Weren't they introduced in 6th/7th edition? So naturally some of the units inside have probably changed their characteristics after 8th release. That's why the necessary update. Tau box looks just fine in terms of no dramatic changes, for example Xv8 becoming a ...

Re: nix0n's "Battle Worn Cadre" [WIP log]

Thank you n1md4 and Darklighter on your feedback. I agree on the blue lenses. It's a simple color that in my mind fits all Tau units no matter the scheme. But I would love to add some contrast or so called play with colors with adding unusual tone for the lenses. A dark red look would be really mena...

Quick update with some photos of new scheme! https://i.imgur.com/IFxcu2b.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/sumULw6.jpg?1 Yes :D I am somewhat happy with getting some work done, finally! The scheme/colors is/are mostly solid and this time I am not going back. The two miniatures in the front are the ones that...

Yes :D hundred times yes!
Painting is just superb!
I absolutely love how you converted the back of your riptide. I'd love to achieve same look to my XV8 suits and a potential Riptide.
Any chance to link a guide how that was achieved?

Re: A'kish Vior'la Cadre

Oh man! Those sculpts surely are awesome and the poses are so unique. The backpressure sure is adding up after purchasing more miniatures. I got the optimized team pack over a month ago. Still haven't even clipped off a single part. I'm so tempted but not untill I get my fore warriors ready... Take ...

Re: Do you paint in batches, or one-by-one?

I'll start with small batches too. Like, real small batches. I'll start with two to three minis primed basecoated and washed but easily get distracted by my mistakes that I'll start to clean up them one by one on an individual model and so it goes... I end up with six hours spent and barely a single...

Extra torsos in the new repackaged box you mean? Be specific guys! This is important! :D

Re: Start Collecting disappears in the US

Well I got the newly packaged start collecting box, I dunno if this was a mistake or not but it's a good one. It says 10 fire warriors but there are actually 12 in the start collecting box now, don't know if it was that way before but yah enough for 12 fire warriors or breachers if you have two ext...

Re: nix0n's "Battle Worn Cadre" [WIP log]

Nah I was talking about the one on the right. Oh that one?! Yeah that was completely pain in the back! And I am not really sure if I am ready to accomplish such task again any time soon. Thanks to Arka's guide I was able to neaten up the leg panels but that took way too much time and nerves. To ach...

Thank you Tael and Bloodknife for your generous comments! Your shading in the armour grooves is superb! Re: nix0n's "Battle Worn Cadre" [WIP log]

September flew past just like that. I decided to post a small update for myself to log the ideas I have tried so far. https://i.imgur.com/edrEYbb.jpg?1 Here are some new test schemes I've been trying and pondering on what to go with. I never had such hard time previously on just choosing one scheme ...

Re: Ghostly Daemon's Fire Warriors in Four Hours

The new Fire Warrior sculpts sure are amazing.
And the head antenna has been given more girth to prevent it from snapping. Although if you prefer to not to fiddle with gluing them thats totally understandable.

Can't wait to see some painted models :)

Ah. I don't know why but it sure is refreshing to see some classic Tau sept color on a Fire Warrior! :D
I really like the progress picture you took. Simple but effective!
