On Pulse Carbines: You should make a bigger deal about them being Assault so they can advance and shoot (at a -1), but 3 ML hits will negate that negative. 6 is my preference, but my favorite thing to do is to take 12 and string them between 2-3 squads and take wounds from the middle guys so the unit is still in 3" of the important squad, but not necessarily in cohesion with each other.

Ah, I understand a little more what you are saying now. While I agree that it would be better for tau players, I think most other armies which have similar things rely on dice rolls to determine which benefits they get or need to be in proximity of a certain unit to get the buff (thinking of guard, ...

Sorry if this is wishlisting but what if:

(1CP) - Vectored Retro-Thrusters
Use this Stratagem in your Assault phase. Select a BATTLESUIT unit that just arrived from Manta Strike, that unit can immediately move as if it were in your movement phase.

Deep strike got hella expensive (as you can see from todays reveal 1 CP), thats why xv8s are so overcost. The unfortunate part is that they are our only platform for weapons as well

Heh, I actually like T'au being close-mid ranged. That's how I always intended to build my army even back in 7th anyway. Hmm, good point. What if a signature system took up 2 slots and you could only have 1 per commander?

Unfortunately it's not really that commanders are underpriced, it's that crisis suits and most battlesuits are overpriced. We're priced like we're an elite army but in reality we have an unreliable BS and are fragile for our points unless we take swarms of drones. A better option is reducing the nu...

I like the idea and it should work vs infantry/elite heavy armies.

The only time I could see this falling flat is when faces with vehicles.
