Just got a box of pathfinders, and currently thinking of fielding them as all with Pulse Carbines and Markerlights. I havent had a full look at the options, so may have missed something, but my understanding of their wargear is i can swap out up to 3 carbines and their markerlights for ion and rail...

Fire warriors have a high range and strength, which with the proper auras can become an option (maybe even 7 pts each?). Totally, we just need the aura! We could try an Ethereal, for re-rolling ones, or maybe Shadowsun, for re-rolling ones, or how about Markerlights, I hear those let you re-roll on...

I want to keep the sunshark. I find it very flexible and valuable at point denial. Really good at taking out Small Units. That's on top of dealing MW to heavy infantry. Like you said smite spam will probably down it… if I'm over aggressive with it. So I dropped the XV9s I have 2 Ion commanders now ...

The ability already exists in a few armies. Blood Angels have a stratagem for it, and I think vanilla Terminators can do it too. So there's a precedent already.

Well, they are written differently, and Sense of Stone doesn't says anything about Mortal Wounds (which Stims does) and rather says "suffers an unsaved wound", not "loses a wound" like other FnP abilities says. I think RAI is a FnP, but RAW sounds to me like something inbeetwen....
