Re: Sense of Stone. FnP or not?

Hello, I read in other group about the Sense of Stone ability if count as FnP or not, since the wording says "Whenever an affected unit suffers an unsaved wound, roll a D6. On a 6, that wound is ignored." It says "unsaved wound" not "loses a wound". So it trigger after...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

By that logic, reinforcements shouldn't multiply drones and yet they do. Just because you didn't pay for something doesn't mean some weird game mechanic can't give it to you for free. I don't think anything multiplies drones. With the exception of abilities that specifically give you models for fre...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

Nah, you only payed for one so you only get one. You payed for the ability to place a turret, which belongs to the unit. If you split the unit, each model inherits the unit's abilities. Except that just can't be the case. You pay for one turret, the options text explains the unit can take one turre...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

If I recall correctly, hasn't the targeting array in the Hammerhead's front turret mounting always represented its BS3+ (or BS4 in the old editions)? The sun shark and the other shark both have targeting arrays and BS 4+ :/ I just mean the Hammerhead, the flyers are both newer models. I think the H...

Re: T'au septs from the new Codex maybe leaked?

The 2 forgeworld commanders are kel'shan and dal'yth I reckon they're going to be septs in the codex also Actually, those Septs being represented on FW models is pretty strong evidence for Kel'Shan and Dal'yth NOT being represented in the codex. Generally speaking, FW factions do not get rules repr...

Monat (???CP)

That unit can move, shoot, move, shoot, move, shoot

I'd pay 5 CP for that

Haha, that would just make Commanders even better :D

Re: Tau Win Percentage Log

Thank you much! I felt like it might've been FAQed but didn't have the time that night to track down the FAQ. I've got a grudge match with him in a week, and this time I'll know a little better what's coming. You're welcome. I've been thinking about a few ways to counter this strategy, and I have a...

Re: T'au septs from the new Codex maybe leaked?

I really, really hope Farsight Enclaves get something that rewards and encourages aggressive tactics. Same with Farsight himself. Reroll 1s to hit in fight phase isn't enough to really make him a viable force multiplier, but in combination with a rad sept rule? Maybe he'll be super rad. Re-rolling ...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

Moving JSJ to a Strategem would be a pretty hefty disappointment for Commander spam and would further inflate the value of Y'vahra since it is probably the best single target candidate for JSJ use. Another interesting option would be multiple units using JSJ, but costs multiple CP. Something along ...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

It's a nice idea, but I think that destroys the whole point of our battlesuits being mobile threats really. I don't think a stratagem for JSJ is going to be amazing, but like has been said; we'll get some bad ones and with that, we should get some great ones too, so perhaps when all is said and don...

Re: Alternate Kroot Hound Ideas

My plan was, to use little packs of Kroothounds (4 for just 16 points) to prevent deep striking. Using Kroot Carnivores instead would be much more expensive pointwise. Replacing the exact role would be much more expensive- if you used Kroot Carnivores they'd be as an all-rounder screening/flanking ...

Re: Arka0415's Tau Sept Project Log

Your bases look absolutely fantastic, Arka. What's your secret? Thanks! The bases ended up having more details than the models, oh well :D Here's the recipe I posted in another thread some time ago: The cracked earth takes a couple steps but I'd be happy to explain: 1. Prime the base black. 2. Pain...

True true! Custodes shifting to BS2+ is a really interesting development. Though I would attribute that to those units being re-worked into a real, standalone army.

Speaking of stratagems earlier, here's the unique one that was just revealed for Custodes:

Wouldn't it be nice to gain something like that- the ability to ignore penalties to hit. Tasty.

Re: Ranged Superiority: How much would you be willing to pay?

DEEP STRIKE IS NO LONGER RANDOM No random scatter makes deep strike at LEAST 3x as powerful as previous editions. You can park a commander at the bare edge of 18'' and know that's he's there for good. You juuuust edge behind terrain for a save or to block LOS to a distant unit. You can count on you...

Re: Tau Win Percentage Log

Poxwalkers were in the back, just spaced enough that I couldn't deepstrike behind them easily. Stratagem played to prevent me from targeting them unless they were the closest unit. lots of castling up in front of them with support characters, plague marines, and cultists. All of my gun drones, requ...

Re: Alternate Kroot Hound Ideas

All of those would be difficult conversions I think if you want to make them really Kroot-y. I mean, Hounds are nice, but given the price of the real model and the difficulty of converting your own, I feel like regular Kroot Carnivores would do just as well in the role.
