Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Now Hear me out, squats.

Like orbital battery sized squat ion cannons. manned by broadsides.

Wait. Supremacy.

i just get giddy thinking of extreme size ratio imbalance .

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

:) But I thought we are fearfull that cibs will be taken away since they are not on the average crisis sprue; Ominous. I would also like silly big manned artillery but with suits, bigger than a full on rail gun. Being seung around by a inflight coldstar, all gundam style. Ive read it several times b...

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Ive been thinking a lot of the pay one price and choose weapons during deployment. And wishlisting it. I feel it matches these mecha suits we play with perfectly, Especially since im a battletech nut. But list tailoring is bad And tau are already seen as "that guy" by a lot of people. Feel...

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Gotcha. Its to expensive to basically just be another shield drone. Well its basically to expensive to be a crisis suit. giving up the 3+ save vs the first volly massed ap o shots for a 3+ 4++ 6+++ isnt worth while. My idea isnt aweful with going just the stims on one crisis suit and two weapons. to...

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Oh i get we suck in combat
What i mean is. If im in one anyways. Can i choose to take wounds to the invul/fnp suit first until it dies or will my opponent have a lot of control over what suit in the unit he is hitting.

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Why are bodyguards bad? Is it because why pay for bodyguards when you cant really shoot my commander behind normal crisis anyways ? Still snipers and Psykers are a threat , no? Would it be worthwhile to: Have 5 suits with Cibs(or whatever) one has a drone controller. Then have a fourth suit with a s...

Re: Stormsurge

Off topic as usual: the new tyranid dex has all the pics of nids fighting us tau i know we all anticipate march including myself but... I noticed our markerlights, jsj and our double fire weapon units. Surge riptide. And throw in the OSC i guess. Anyways maybe all those things will be stratagems 2 s...

Re: Burst cannon vs gun drones

What if in the rebalance of points Burst cannons where just free or nearly so. 6-7 points. Still make them a take when you need those last ten points or something. Free would make them perhaps to good but with maybe not with other points reduction but would make cheep suits viable. Like it will happ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Maybe we get better markerlight tables spending cp. ive read a lot of good ideas here on soending cp And i guess its not actually a problem but so may good makes me think ill never be able to do them all. But like jump shoot jump, markerlights seems to be one of the things most people are adamant ar...

Re: Let's Contact GW! (Round 3)

Allowing the hammerhead to fire twice is all well and nice
How does that ballance internally with Railsides and gunforts though?

I only have tau so far. i considered getting nids but my friend went all nids/ cults/imperial and since i mostly play just him since restarting , it didnt seem the thing to do a...

Re: Going against the nids

When i decided to play 40k and not just because my friends handed me a fist full of proxies and told me to Roll. I had tried dwarves in fantasy and did not have much an interest in the harsh i go you go or clear papper scissors that the skaven and orcs presented. One day i seen a picture in random w...

Re: getting to five markerlights

I read up a list on dakka dakka some guy was raving about three gunrigs with marksmen and pathfinders with rifles n stuff. though i have many differences his list set the tone for what My current list looks like. Even though deep down i really want to play a riptide coldstar pirhanna and vespid type...

Re: getting to five markerlights

I would also say a 9 man in a drone port with a markerlight character is Acceptible. Now im assuming darkstriders or fireblades ablilties don't work inside?

Re: Tanks - what a disappointment

I agree with panzers idea
Its
Just like my railgun hammerhead idea
Lets make our army the great white sharks of mortal wound spam :)

Ahem
Thats heavy sniper mortal wounds son.
Now go put gilliman away

though that would require sniper markerlights possibly on the skyray itself, but im ok with that

Re: Tanks - what a disappointment

Seen on dakka a guy making a case for the tidewall gunfort. If our hammerheads get double shots at half speed. Kinda seems like that might do in the Gunfort. And the broadsides would need a decent reduction in cost to make it compete internally. Especially considering the ballistic skills. I say mak...

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Especially against say necrons where elimination of units wholesale is key.
