Re: Comments on the Official Tau Timeline

The difference is that Xenology clearly has an unreliable narrator, while timeline entries are presented as unvarnished truth. As for detection -- the tau were able to catch the genestealer. Then they decided to experiment on it... and of course , their quarantine protocols were compromised, and a c...

Re: Shadow War: Armageddon announced

I suspect that the rules allow different armies to clash, not that Armageddon has become the next Kronus, with every galactic power sending an army. I'm a fan of smaller games -- Combat Patrol and the like. Color me intrigued. Once I read just how robust the rules for non-Blood Angels, non-Ork teams...

Re: Comments on the Official Tau Timeline

Ionus wrote:The incident takes place after the Cryptus Campaign of the Blood Angels, which occurred in 998.M41. Does that narrow things down at all?

Then the civil war on Ksi'm'yen must be in the future!

Re: Comments on the Official Tau Timeline

Well, the Deathwatch attack on the Enclaves must be in 999.M41 (or later???), since that's when the Mont'ka supplement is set. I'll add it to the timeline when I get to the Warzone Damocles stuff. But the Ksi'm'yen fluff is... not dated well. Ksi'm'yen is a Third Sphere sept, just recently taken fro...

Re: Fluff Update: Burning Dawn and Operation Shadowtalon

Bless you, Samurai. I'm really impressed with this little bit of fluff. It reads as very Tau-y to me.

Re: What sept world is shadowsun from?

In Braden Campbell's Shadowsun: The Last of Kiru's Line , Shadowsun ruminates on "what would become of the ancestral estate on T'au" now that her sister was dead. On the other hand, in Phil Kelly's Blood Oath , the aerials of a shield drone remind Shadowsun "of the plain-hoppers she u...

Re: So... about Longstrike

I like both (b) and (c). It would be like the Imperium to decide that Taros -- of all places! -- must be brought back into the Imperial fold, and it would be like the Tau to make from whole clothe good stories for consumption. Or like Alpha Centauri said best: Richard Baxton piloted his Recon Rover ...
