Re: Magnets- when to do on timeline of painting.

It's better to also get some bigger magnets - 3x1 ones are not nearly strong enough to hold e.g. Hammerhead cannons or Broadside main weapons. I'm currently in the process of assembling my Riptide, but the main gun also looks really heavy. However, 3x1 are perfect for everything else I've magnitized...

Re: Magnets- when to do on timeline of painting.

Actually I didn't know the left arm is the same for all weapons, so I magnetized both arms of my 30 fire warriors ;) (same with pathfinders but they at least have various weapon options)

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I don't really understand people saying that FSE are definitely not focusing on melee combat. GW will do what GW will do. If they want a more distinct subfaction of Tau, they'll just release some more melee-centric models and adjust the fluff accordingly.

Re: Tau/40k Weaponry sounds?

Assuming that the video games are "accurate" on the sounds, why not start there? I think there was at least one 40k game with Tau in it.

Re: Breachers and how to use them

Do you take markerlights on your breachers squads? Being Heavy doesn't help and of course, we're wasting a lot of firepower by firing just the markerlight. The reason I ask is that I'm wondering if I should glue my last markerlight to one of the pulse blasters. My intuition tell me it's a waste and ...

Re: The everchanging game: FAQs and Updates

Change is a good thing, generally. If everything stays exactly the same, people lose interest. Slightly changing the rules constantly is what many (video) game developers do nowadays to keep people interested and I think GW finally follows that example.

And of course it's good for business

Re: TX78 Skyray Gunship

Currently there is only one box for both Hammerhead and Skyray (https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Tau-Empire-Hammerhead-Gunship). You can make either one of them or with clever use of magnets on the turrent, you can make both. It's also very easy to make this into a Devilfish: 1. Take a Burst Can...

Also, with some clever magnetisation, you can essentially swap between Coldstar and Enforcer as you see fit.

Re: First time building, concerns with codex

There are still some physical bits that could represent different systems but only magnetise these if you feel like it ;) (well, I did it)

Re: QFC / coldstar magnetise?

The way I did this was to magnetize the engines first. This can be done easily just by: - inserting a magnet into the slot that connects the engine to the body (depending on the size of the magnet you might want to drill the slot a little bit) - cutting the pin on the body where the slot should go a...

They are in boxes with units that can take them (Commander, Crisis Teams, Fire warriors, etc.). You can also buy a separate Tactical Drones box. And of course there's ebay.

Re: Factfile: Battleforce T'au

And maybe the suggestion of the flamer is a good spoiler in that. Maybe the spoiler should be that we can't take more then 2-3 of the same weapons on a Commander in which then the Flamer would become a good complementary weapon. Unlikely, it was stated in the Designers' Commentary (I think) that if...

So this changes only FW models, normal Hammerheads are still priced the same?

Cadre Fireblade conversion - could use some help :)

Someone suggested making your own Cadre Fireblades from unused Ethereals from the Start Collecting kit and that's what I did. I've added a sword, hands, head and backpack from the Firewarrior/Breachers sprue and it looks quite nice imho (I'm not fully satisfied with his left hand but I had no better...

Re: new battleforce sets

My local store has the battleforces for PLN420 (~£88) and I think the Tau one is a great deal, not sure about the others. If I didn't have enough models, I'd certainly buy it.
