Re: Pathfinders' alternative weapons

Just remember if you're taking special weapons pathfinders though a recon drone not only gives the benefits of ignore cover but has 2 wounds it can tank for saviour protocols for 4pts cheaper than 2 gun drones

Re: Pathfinders' alternative weapons

I'm not sure that the recon drone cannot fire you know. Sure it's embarked, but the rule specifically refers to it as a turret mounting. So I'd count it as an extra weapon for the devilfish, same way attached gun drones work. After all, the gun is outside the fish (I'd say confirmed by the fact tha...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

The problem with asking for patience is that I see space marine models come out practically every month. I want that. So go collect imperial soup? Though I have heard if you play space Marines for too long your soul will start to seep out of your body bit by bit in sheer disgust  :dead: ;)

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

They hate xenos armies so much that they released incredible new T'au kits, crazy new Eldar subfaction characters, and an entire new gimmick army based on an old concept that was a real gamble on its success just out of spite. Not even counting the re-editing of old Eldar characters to go with the ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I sure hope I'm wrong and sound like that crazy jaded guy who thinks the moon is falling or something lol. It's so hard trying to let go of something that means so much to me. Which is why I need so much time to let it digest its gone. I mean, absolutely no offense, but your posts do sound like tha...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

No that's free because you pay for that in the price of the apothecary Revivals are free, new models cost points. This is consistant across Spae Marine, Astra Militarum, and Tyranids, which can all revive models. Magnus creates new models for free. Are you referring to his ability to create spawn w...

Re: saviour protocols with shield drones

I agree that the new method is better for gameplay. The only part that is confusing is that the community still says things like FNP when technically that rule no longer exists. I get that but aslong as everyone knows what it means it's easier because it sums up the effects of dozens of "diffe...

Re: Pathfinders' alternative weapons

It may be interesting if you already plan to mount up your pathfinders in a devilfish to add a recon drone that never gets out just to go around and deny cover bonuses to units...especially since each weapon can target independently so you can deny up to 6 units cover a turn (one for the recon dron...

Re: saviour protocols with shield drones

If you are a new player this can be very confusing. The FNP thing is jargon from previous editions where all of these special saves that happen after the armor save were a single rule called "Feel No Pain". The community has taken to calling these similar rules by that, even though they e...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

The only thing that comes to mind is the Chaos Boon table. You still have to pay reserve points for most chaos shenanigans so I don't know if that counts. The Meat Grinder rule in Narrative Play can have this effect, but that is Narrative. There is no reinforcement cost in Narrative anyways. Yeah, ...

Re: T'au septs from the new Codex maybe leaked?

I have a question regarding septs. If Shadowsun is T'au, she wont be fieldable with any other sept. Almost all our named caracters are with T'au.... So they wont be fieldable with other sep't? do you think they will make more Generic HQs for the other sept or other named caracter? AM was the same a...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

That would be fine but remember that our army can not only relay on Stratagems as CP are very limited. For every other army Stratagems are cherry on the top of the pie... why Tau has to be army which pie is already limited resource. Except for Imperial Guard, which can easily field a 15CP army that...

Re: T'au septs from the new Codex maybe leaked?

The Sept traits I'd most like to see (which probably means that we aren't getting them) are Stormtroopers 6+ at half range gives an extra shot Salamanders reroll 1 hit and wounds roll each time a unit fires (for hammerhead and Broadsides yo) Raven guard + others -1 to hit after 12" (can you eve...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I thought Skyrays were BS 3+. I may have just confused them with Hammerheads. In any case, GW is looking to nerf smite anyway and has proposed the -1 per cast as a beta rule. Also, psykers have a chance of blowing up and smite can only target the nearest unit. Seekers would be able to focus fire on...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Make seeker missiles do regular damage, not mortal wounds. E.g. S9 AP -2 D6 damage. I personally don't mind not having mortal wounds to dish out, so long as we can just do lots of damage. I'll have to disagree with this. Having played against Custodes and Thunderwolf Cav heavy list before you'll wa...

Re: T'au septs from the new Codex maybe leaked?

I'm hoping that Farsight Enclaves is expanded into a separate army a la Genestealer Cults I doubt it, tempestus didn't get a separate codex just a different regiment trait, and like the tempestus FE don't have anything unique to justify it's own codex, Genestealer cult is massively different from t...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Do you know what I would like to see? Change Multi-tracker to instead allow the reroll of 1 hit per turn and then give one to all battlesuits like they used to. Because let's be honest who uses Multi-tracker atm and it's not like we don't have enough RR 1's anyway. I also hope we get a return to har...
