Re: 1500 limited model availability

I like the updated list, just really wanted to use the Droneport markerlight platform. The pathfinder thing was a bad formatting issue, of course all of them have markerlights. - edited original for this error, keeping the list as original for more inputs. Since running multiple small units of fire...

Re: 1500 limited model availability

Hey there, Few issues I see with the initial list: -No need for having the Exemplar of Mont'ka on longstrike. As he gives all hammerheads +1 to hit, and he is a hammerhead, he is his own counter to moving and firing heavy weapons. -The droneport combo isn't really a solid tactic, as when you put the...

Re: 1500 Points Manta Strike army (vs Daemons, Necrons, Space Marines)

Hi there! This looks like a very polished list already! Plenty of commanders, couple of Coldstars. Doesn't need a massive amount of markerlights due to all the Commanders. Couple of points I would mention- - I'd say is don't bother taking the drones on the Coldstar. They won't keep up with the suit ...

Re: Next Issue: Drones and Manta Strike

I think the recon drone would count as it's own unit, it says they can take up to 2 drones and a recon drone, plus leaving the recon drone in a devilfish buffs it. If you counted it as part of a unitn with the other two you'd have to leave them in the fish as well? Afraid this isn't the case, heres...

Re: 1000 Points Mechanized Tau

I've just come up with a list for a game with my Tyranids friend(who runs hive fleet behemoth), and I need some tweaking done to it. Here's the list, made up of what works for me: That's the hive fleet that allows you to reroll charges, right? I think that so many devilfish may work to your advanta...

Re: 1100 point Tournament List, Need help!

HQ- Cadre Fireblade: Markerlight (42) - Relic: Puretide Neurochip; Warlord: Exemplar of Kauyon I made a post about placement of Warlord traits and which ones to choose (link here: http://www.advancedtautactica.com/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=27296) and I wouldn't use the Kauyon trait- all our HQs hit ...

Re: 1100 point Tournament List, Need help!

Guys Update: YES, TO said we can use 2 Commanders AND 2 Cold Stars :D. This is good news! What we basically have is 672 points of HQ you wanna take to be competitive, and after your close to 400 troop choice, there's a 25-30 point buffer we need to fill. How about a firesight marksman? He's hard to...

Re: 2000Pt Stealth and Fusion Cadre

My thought on the stealth team build is that taking both target+marker and fusion blaster ends up a little bit mismatched as you only get to use one, but are paying for both. ATS makes stealth teams better at offense, but is comparatively expensive as you're paying per burst cannon (compared to say...

It's a pretty solid super accurate markerlight that lets the fire warriors pummel deep strikers! What's not to love?

Re: 2000Pt Stealth and Fusion Cadre

Hi there! Had a look over the list, and the first thing that stands out is that some of the unit values are off and the list as is only comes to 1932pts. For example, QFC with no drones is 160, and the Coldstars with drones is 166pts. Few things to tweak with the list: -The Coldstar commanders don't...

Re: Early warning override use against Reserve models.

And I would argue that within the rules of the drop pod states that the unit MUST immediately disembark just like in 7th and our use of EWO. We were able to shoot the guys then under the same rules so it won't stop us now. The only real change is it's interaction with characters. Drop pod drops, gu...

Re: Early warning override use against Reserve models.

Of course this means that because Da Jump is a psychic power and not an ability, we are defenseless against it. It's in the index: Xenos 2 FAQ that we can stop the jump with EWO! :) Q: Can models with an early warning override Support System use it to shoot at units that use psychic powers such as ...

Re: Ghostkeel tactica

The two most common builds I've seen are anti-armour ghostkeels and anti-MEQ ones. Standard anti-armour- fusion collider, 2x fusion blaster, target lock and shield generator. (240 points) Standard anti-MEQ- Cyclic ion raker, 2x burst cannon, ATS, target lock. (181 points) The anti-armour 'keel seems...

Re: 1100 point Tournament List, Need help!

This looks alright. The biggest issue I see is you have a gap in your weapon choices between either spamming S5 or going straight to fusion blaster/seeker missles. You have the drone+fireblade+devilfish combo in this list, but I'm of the thought that its a bit of a points suck with little offensive...

Re: Stealth suits for dummies

Can we get back on topic please. This was just suppose to be a quick topic to help me understand the uses of stealthsuits (new player and all). Yeah, good idea. In summary: -Stealth teams make brilliant, durable mid-table objective holders, that will absorb a good amount of enemy fire power for the...

Re: Stealth suits for dummies

UNTARGETTABLE. What part of this word are you people missing? Makes him infinitely harder to kill than stealths which are admittedly hard to kill anyway. But the point stands that my DC caddy is untargettable. Everyone complains about how easy it is to break up our synergy with killing off markerli...

Re: Stealth suits for dummies

Best DC carrier is technically a commander. DC+flamer and he's untargetable. He's in my GCGT list I'm taking this weekend. I think you may be forgetting to factor in the massive amount of firepower you lose giving a DC to a commander and taking away his BS2+ entirely with flamers. Yes quite. A dron...

Re: Stealth suits for dummies

On top of all the resilience, they're also probably our best carrier for a drone controller as it stands, as they don't lose a weapon to take it. Means if you use a homing beacon for a flamer crisis team with 6x gun drones, you essentially get 6 more burst cannons worth of S5 fire :) Their damage ou...
