Re: Heavy Gun Drones

I personally like them because they have 3 wounds, so they can take 3 savior protocol hits before dying. I usually put them behind the one "slowmmander" I don't deep strike. Same. Three wounds for Saviour Protocol is handy. I usually place them with stationary Drone Controller suits: Cris...

Re: Advice please: XV8 Vs commander

I have the old heads, and they're actually a bit big for the new XV8 chassis. The new XV8s have smaller, low-profile heads, so the old metal commander heads look very large. Good to know! I only have old Crisis Suits at the moment, though I have some new ones kicking around in the Start Collecting ...

Re: Advice please: XV8 Vs commander

Some of the old models came with different heads, three antennae instead of two and so-on. You might do well to eBay source some of those, or perhaps go third party like Red Dog Minis.

I used parts from Fire Warriors, Kroot Carnivores and an old Crisis Antenna. Album below.

I used the wrong size base though....

Re: Arka0415's Tau Sept Project Log

I just saw this.

Very, very nice work, Arka.

Crisp, clean and they seem alive.

Keep it up, who cares if you're "slow" -- the result speaks for itself.

Mostly for record keeping.

He switched up on me and played Orks.

Big Guns Never Tire.

I had first turn.

Won by end of third turn. Hazard Suit Shooting was too much.

More info later, sleep time.

[Battalion + Spearhead] Interim 2,500 Points List vs. AdMech

Hi again! The Ya'ven Sept is at it again. I'm slowly working through painting new models to add to the army. This is very much an interim list until I can build and paint another Hammerhead, the Longstrike Mini, as well as build and paint another Commander. I would the build two Rail Broadsides as I...

Re: The Confused Shas'el -- A Discussion on Battlefield Role for Crisis Battlesuits

3 x CIB + ATS is reliable TEQ hunter too.

Anti-Elites.

I ended up going 2 x Fusion + Flamer for my Crisis Team. I'll have to look at replacing the Flamer now.

Thanks for this!

Re: Throwing out the mold: the merits of despecialization in crisis teams

Does the new Marker stratagem change any considerations here?

I find outfitting a whole unit of Crisis Suits the same to be boring, but efficient.

I really like idea of a Crisis Team having separate load outs for maximum flexibility on a mission, but that's more a Kill Team thing than proper 40K.

Okay, cool.

For me, Factionless means no longer Battle-Forged. I'm not sure that's accurate though.

Re: The Firesight Warlord

Mont'ka Warlord Trait might be good too. Remember that Sniper Drones have Rapid Fire Weapons, so you could creep behind your Fireblade plus Strike Teams and Gun Drones with XV8 Bodyguards with one having a Drone Controller.

Re: Aun’Shi in 8th Ed

This .. you can't help to expect certain things from our codex, right ? Also why not a hover drone for him, that could be interesting. If players don't realize, it could be a problem. For example, if you include Aun'shi in a Tau Sept army, the detachment he is included in suddenly becomes factionle...

Contagion and Incursion: Coming of the Feral Gue'ron'sha - Part Three “As I call out the target, Tal’in’ui,” the older Tau called out reassuringly over the CadreNet, “you mark them for death.” Shas’ui Ya’ven Tal’in sent a gold ping acknowledgment through the tactical network. Contagion and Incursion: The Coming of the Feral Gue'ron'sha - Part Two Shas’ui Ya’ven Su’ri coughed reflexively. The air coming out of the ancient gue'ron'sha vessel was not just stale, it was the smell of decay. She wrinkled her face as she replaced her helmet and pulled up her tactical display. ...

Contagion and Incursion: The Coming of the Feral Gue'run'sha - Part One "Load them into the transport, gently , shas'vre," subcommander Ge'vran called out over the network. The leader of his stealth team did not reply, only signalling curt acknowledgment with a gold-status ping through th...

Re: [Custom Sept] Ya'ven - A World of Mesas, River Canyons and High Plateaus

The Early Years The early decades of Ya'ven colony were not exciting by any measure of the word. The Earth Caste continued their work building the infrastructure necessary to continue the economic exploitation of the vast mineral wealth of the planet. In addition, they successfully domesticated sev...

[Custom Sept] Ya'ven - A World of Mesas, River Canyons and High Plateaus

Ya'ven Sept Colour: Light Blue Common Armour Colouration : Red and White, sometimes Black. The Ya'ven Sept was first colonized shortly after Commander Farsight was victorious on Arkunasha against the Orks, but before he was seemingly killed in battle some time later. Short on water, Ya'ven was a wo...
