Re: Let's Contact GW! (Round 3)

Crisis suits and broadsides with BS3+ is something that I thing should really be in codex as they are elites/"snipers" and from fluff view they are piloted by elite warriors and have lots of electronics to help the pilot shoot, especially the static, stable broadsides with their precise ra...

Re: [ATT Recommended] 500pt list help

I think Crisis Flamers would be #1, #2 Fusion Commanders as they still have a good potential in the >9-18" bracket, while Flamers are useless if they stay out of 8".. only other way is moving/advancing them up, though the Homing beacon is a more sure way to get them where you want them. I...

Re: [ATT Recommended] 500pt list help

Just a litle note, homing beacon + QFC is our primary way of dealing with wehicles/monsters, often allowing us to remove the big threats turn one, and I'say the most used tactic among all tau players currently It can be also used to get flamer crisis to an objective they would not reach normaly, giv...

Primary source would be one of the tau novels, I think its fire warrior but not sure, where one of the fire warriors gets partly possesed by a deamon for a short period

Re: Advice please: XV8 Vs commander

XV-8 can allways count as commander, doesn't matter if iridium or not, GW didn't discount the option to use XV-8 suits for commander even though more modern suits are out for them, according to fluff XV8 are still used by commanders and it seems that there actually aren't enought coldstar/enforcer s...

Re: Longstrike with closed hatch?

Well I ain't really confident about making the transparent cockpit, I think in my hands it would go very wrong easily and eve if it didn't I probably wouldn't be very happy with the result, though I totally love the idea and would like to see someone actually doing that as for the extra/inverted mar...

Re: Please link 8th edition video battle reports here

Yeah, this is one of the big problems with Tau battle reports- there aren't many (if any, really) good Tau players who make battle reports. StrikingScorpion is one of the good channels out there- professional, tactical, and fun to watch. However the Tau battle reports leave a little to be desired. ...

Longstrike with closed hatch?

hey, I was wondering if there is a way to represent the longstrike without actually having him sticking out of the hatch, which I personaly don't like and it doesn't make much sense either (why would you stick your head out of the armored vehicle when you don't need to and are the only one controlin...

6 okt 2017: StrikingScorpions T'au vs Ultra Marines 2k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9fzd2laJyk tried to watch this, but at about 3 minutes in I had to close it, don't expect a battle report from a guy that puts 3FB MT and SG on commander to have any value to me at all this is an issue I see in ...

From your username I would figure you'd be the expert, but where the heck are you finding a steel beer can these days? well it depends where you live, I hear in US they aren't too rare, but in europe it might be different, I got mine from imported german nonalcoholic beer Leon Stainer or something ...

Re: First time building, concerns with codex

Keeping the same polarity is easy, just magnetize one gun and whenever you glue a magnet to body just use the gun to check the polarity, once you are done magnetize any remaining weapons that you need magnetised but generaly except for big guns there is no point in worrying about polarity as you wan...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Drones are pretty bad at shooting even with their high volume of fire and cadre fireblades/drone controllers. It was that I took issues with. I'm not saying that your wrong about how good their maneuverability and survivability is but I wouldn't say that they are bad at shooting. A drone controller...

The issue here is that he is already using most if not all of his gun drones and drones in general, so I would probably go the way of arming the commanders at the expense of etherials

Except for Heavy Gun Drones from forge world which have special rule that they can't benefit from their unit's markerlights, even the model that fired the markerlight can benefit from it (if it can shoot again after shooting marker)

Re: Sniper mortal wounds and savior protocol

Im not too sure here but it is resolved the same way as you would resolve it directly, eg. If the sniper hit kills a model and you need to pass the extra MW on different model, it's an extra wound for another drone, if the MW woul disappear wit the death of the model same thing with drones

Re: 2000pt 2 Y'Vahra 98 Drones

In my opinion morale shouldn't be too much of an issue as the shield drones shouldn't die so easily and once you lose them the unit is just too small for morale to have big influence, your opponent willl have to dedicate lot of firepower to single drone squad to make you suffer from morale reliably,...
