I think the easiest would be Astra Militarum and treat them as Gue'vesa forces.

I think that More as a Standard that everyone would do I search More for The hillarious or crazy stuff. (unless I would have any of The baneblade variants :? )

Mixing Tau with other Factions

Hi I am a guy who has Friends as crazy as him and want to mix some factions. So what do you think would be The most funny unit in combination of Tau? I myself will buy me next week The Custodes Jetbikes for many funny situations that could happen. (sorry for grammar errors not a native English Speak...

Re: Riptide support systems (new player)

That is a great idea and I habe Guilliman :D Hmm maybe... I'm not sure Guilliman needs to be part of the list though, he could very well have ordered them off on a mission without going on it himself. Either way, it's your choice though ! :P I am gonna see how I deal with it. probably without Guill...

Re: Riptide support systems (new player)

Considering farsight enclaves is a thing, I wouldn't be surprised if there were rogue tau working as mercs. Possibly very rarely, like a sub-faction of the enclaves have become so far removed from the greater good that they're willing to rent out their services. I would imagine that they are about ...

Re: saviour protocols with shield drones

No, because it takes a Mortal Wound. It can, however, use it's "Feel No Pain" ability (on a 5+, ignore the wound) They have a feel no pain :-? Yes, they have a 5+ FNP. It's in the Xenos FAQ/updates. If a unit takes a wound, that wound can be changed to one mortal one against the drone thr...

Re: Riptide support systems (new player)

Ok tyranid allies that was for sure funny. A Little fluf question. Are there tau septs that work as mercenaries? Tau use a lot of mercenaries (mainly Kroot), but Tau themselves act as mercenaries only very, very rarely. I assume really only in situations where they could increase their influence ov...

Re: Riptide support systems (new player)

Ok did not know that. It was an odd time. One of the best Tau lists had Tyranid allies! The competitive scene was completely messed up. Tau may have been nerfed but 8th Edition is a breath of fresh air. Ok tyranid allies that was for sure funny. A Little fluf question. Are there tau septs that work...

In previous editions Tau could ally pretty effectively with Eldar. So, that's where the jetbikes could come from.

Ok did not know that.

Maybe you could imagine they're similar to XV8s? Otherwise I guess not all of their models have exact GW equivalents.

I would imagine they are supposed to proxy jetbikes from other armies when we are playing with ally detachments.

Could any possible

Re: Riptide support systems (new player)

I just told my friends to swap armies. They never again thought the tau were OP. I told them The same thing. Well my Death guard player did not Attack me in assault. Well to be honest he did not even move 1". I try to convince them. (just as I convinced them that i could use the custodes jetbi...

Re: Riptide support systems (new player)

IMO the best use for riptide rn is proxying Y'vahra Hopefully it will be better once the codex drops, as I am fond of mecha tau, and riptide and its variants are the coolest suits we have, along with ghostkeel and for me the coolest models in our army Was gonna say this ^ All I ever do with my ript...
