Re: Own personal sept fluff

How about a mix of the two - a secret warp facility at the edge of the system? Or, you could have the facility be located somewhere in interstellar space (I think deep space stations are mentioned in the codex), which means pretty much absolute secrecy and absolutely no natural light? I like the de...

Re: Own personal sept fluff

What if the planet orbited the star very distantly, and when the star died out, exploded, collapsed, or decayed (or maybe was sucked into the Great Rift?), the planet ended up outside the it's former sun's gravity well, spinning off into extra-solar space under the influence of it's old orbital mom...

Re: Own personal sept fluff

Good points, both had considered. The supernova yes would destroy the system, but if i had something go wrong with the star that caused the planet to get flung out, it would happen very slowly, which would then lead to the argument of why didn't they just abandon the planet. The getting cold point c...

Re: Own personal sept fluff

Excellently dramatic and overblown way to theme your colourscheme a-la Tron ;) I like it... Also reminds me of SPACE 1999 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsmefY94E_0 :P :P  Other option for colour scheme was a secret black ops group, but i felt science gone wrong was more for Tau Ok, never...

Re: Pathfinders' alternative weapons

The idea is that (a) you get more units in your Outrider Detachment and thus another Command Point, (b) the squad will take fewer losses due to morale, and (c) most importantly the squads can fire at different times, allowing you to get hits, assess the battlefield, and choose the next target for m...

Re: Pathfinders' alternative weapons

Just got a box of pathfinders, and currently thinking of fielding them as all with Pulse Carbines and Markerlights. I havent had a full look at the options, so may have missed something, but my understanding of their wargear is i can swap out up to 3 carbines and their markerlights for ion and rail...

Re: XV8 Crisis Magnetising

good tips there, might need to see about getting some green stuff then, just in case.

Fully intending on swapping weapons between models, so the "using existing fixed magnets" might be a good way to make sure nothing goes awry.

Re: XV8 Crisis Magnetising

Just another quick question: do you have both magnets flush with the surface, or do you have one raise and the other recessed, almost like a proper hardpoint Making them flush is the easiest way. Making a male-female hardpoint is very stable, but I'd say it's probably overkill. Some people go crazy...

Re: XV8 Crisis Magnetising

thanks for all of these.

will probably have a play around with them with blu-tac later this week/weekend, but at least people seem to do both options which is good to know that both work.

Own personal sept fluff

So currently creating my own Sept with its own armour given their situation, just wondered if people could give their thoughts/ any suggestions to pad it out/ make it more realistic. So I present the lost sept of T'ron: Founded during the Second Sphere of Expansion as a small scientific colony to st...

XV8 Crisis Magnetising

Hi Pretty new to all of this, but can see the worth of magnetising the different loadout options for the crisis suits from the start collecting set. Would allow me to experiment with different builds as i find my feet, and things might change with a fluid index and unreleased codex. Just wondering w...

Re: Getting Started Build List

cheers for that, don't know why i thought there was an extra drone with ST 2.

Will just need to check whether the new drones take me over the limit.

Nice about the markerlights, will be useful when i get a pathfinder team or two so i would have an extra 10 red dots of death.

Re: Getting Started Build List

other slight problem is that don't have pieces for 6 gun drones for the XV8s. So going to pinch the 2 from the fire warrior team and give them two marker lights instead, make the three gun drones that i can and make a shield drone. So i get 5 gun drones hovering around the XV8 with the drone control...

Re: Getting Started Build List

may have noticed a slight flaw in the fire warriors. The set up you had has 2 gun drones with one bunch, and 1 gun drone and the support turret in the other, but the starter set only has bits for 2 drones, unless I'm mistaken and missing a sprue.
