Re: The Fate of Konor: 40K Global Campaign

I think it could be really interesting to be decidedly against the Imperium; we did just finish getting crippled in the Third Sphere by a crusade and lost our Ethereal Prime to an Imperial assassin.

Re: Frontier: The Highest Wall

It's been a while- happy to continue: Commander Ga'rah was a student of Kauyon, the Patient Hunter, and had spent her youth in the battledomes enmeshed in the Shadowsun engram nexus. There, the ghostly image of the famed leader of the Fire Caste had appeared in her mind's eye where she spent countl...

Agreed- I think they'll line up with yours after the administrator narrows it down to what we all seem to be concluding. I'm down.

Bridging the Gap

Without wanting to spark another round of "stop complaining and just enjoy a game" vs "I spend way too much money on this hobby for them to screw over my armylist/fluff" I've been reading the index and thinking about what's happening in the Tau side of the galaxy. Not only have o...

Re: Farisght: Crisis of Faith - New Farsight novel in july

It'd be a waste if a forum post to discuss a novel that the other party hasnt read.

If you're just going after my own criticisms (such as the use ot the word 'cuz') it's okay, literally (no sarcasm) I'm just going to pass.

Tauman:

Fyi we have descriptions of Nicassar from at least one Inquisitor book where they are described as having a beak.

Re: Farisght: Crisis of Faith - New Farsight novel in july

Well... I read it: It's badly written... like, some kind of anime 13+ novel. Seriously... My opinion of Farsight is that he's a tween fighting the urges of hormonal relief as well as emo-freedom. The combat is described in the most basic of WB action sequences- I wish there had been the grim-horror ...

Re: Farisght: Crisis of Faith - New Farsight novel in july

I'm about halfway through this book... it is so completely terrible... so utterly a piece of garbage... It's like this guy doesn't know there are any other books/codexes out there... it's so so so so so... so bad. It honestly reads like an anime novel for Tweens, the Chaos daemons sound like they wa...

Re: Farisght: Crisis of Faith - New Farsight novel in july

@ Panzer: Well it was poignant and directly contradicts your claim. Everyone should read Broken Sword by Guy Haley. No one should pay attention to these Farsight novels... the guy says he thinks Tau blood is red because it looks better on models... while chaos demons talk like they're out of a Berze...

Re: Farisght: Crisis of Faith - New Farsight novel in july

I'm kind of jelly... I've been making the Scar Lords chapter since I read about them a few years ago. The idea this guy is going to talk about them is just... I mean... an assassin in the ranks? The Tau are just becoming techie humans at this point. There is nothing that makes them that unique with ...

Re: Aren't the Kroot rather like the Tyranids???

There is a canonical instances of the Kroot being absolutely terrified of the Genestealers; recognizing that if their genetic information could be consumed and manipulated their entire species would be at risk. It's a fantastic dynamic and a unique relationship between a not-too-written about specie...

Re: The run to 8th edition

Just saw a game played with 8th edition rules after the russia leak (seriously- not some kind of US gov joke). The game was between Nurgle Marines and Space Wolves and I have to say we're looking at a hardcore different game. Everything is extremely fast with a lot of 'swing' situations. Either your...

Re: Once again, Oh Star of Mine. - A Speculative Tau Short.

It would be thoroughly refreshing if the Tau had benefited from their own time travelling selves. I recently had a talk with one of my favorite BL writers and expressed to him my disappointment with so much Tau canonical works and he said he empathized with me but; "no one really likes anime&qu...

Re: The run to 8th edition

And a sphere fleet isnt a type formation, it's an entire age where the Tau gear their entire society to expansion. Shadowsun was reprimanded at Medusa V (i know, retconned) for even mentioning that with a new warp drive there could be a 4th sphere expansion to follow the third sphere colonies for mo...

Re: An Expanded Tau Lexicon 2017

Pretty sure it's in the campaign books but I'd have to look, that's the citation from Lexicon/bolterandchainsword. I get that there are equivalents, and once again; I appreciate your work. I personally just find it too familiarizing to have animals a human being would recognize (I prefer Star Wars f...

Re: The run to 8th edition

Yes, it is most certainly a new dynamic to the game. Strictly from a pan-faction perspective it also means that unit caps should be taken almost every time. With a high model count you have better LD, yet, with more elite units it might make sense to have lower unit numbers like the Riptide (who is ...
