Re: Homing Beacon Question

Well, that would depend on if you can call that "a move", which has pretty firm distinct definition from "setting up" as a reinforcement. Typically, this happens at the end of the Movement phase, but it can also happen during other phases. Units that are set up in this manner can...

Re: Homing Beacon Question

Yes, that seems to be the correct way. a) There seem to be no limitations preventing you to drop them within 1" b) The shooting phase specifies: " You may not pick a unit that Advanced or Fell Back this turn, or a unit that is within 1" of an enemy unit." c) The charge phase stat...

Re: Hammerhead Modelling and Magnetization

HH/SR turrets were designed by different people and/or dif. time, each has a different style friction fit. The HH turret is a lot tighter around the large outer perimeters, to a point where I had to sand it down a bit so it doesn't scratch the paint on the hull each time I put it on. SR turret is a ...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I don't think a +1 to hit support system will come back, sure it would solve "3 weapons on a suit looking stupid" problem and would help with not having sufficient weapon models for WYSIWYG, but for crisis it would essentially be the same as having an extra weapon and it would be priced di...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

I think you're biased by how fast we humans are progressing right now, in 40k there isn't that much new tech (or anything else rly) developing. Plus, if Tau stasis tech is really good, the stress on the body with freezing/unfreezing will be minimal or none. You can unfreeze them for a few days each ...

Re: Plastic glue for Antennae

I glue them by holding the head and antenna together and squirting a bit of acetone with a thin syringe needle, it seeps into the gap and if I miss it won't deform other feature as it's just a solvent without the plastic in it. I do this multiple times, it evaporates quickly from surface but not fro...

Re: What are the statistics of melta guns?

You mean how to put it into the classical greek sigma summation? Yes Then you'll have to somehow put the 2 dimensions into 1. (calculating average..) One way would be: Sum n=1,6 [((n-1)*2+1)*n] ...then divided by the 36 ^ you could simplify the formula, or generalize it for different dices, differe...

Re: What are the statistics of melta guns?

Methodically. Create a 2D table, showing the results of each dice going from 1 to 6: https://i.imgur.com/Z4SPgMH.jpg Then, you sum all results (161), divide by number of results (36), you'll get 161/36 = 4.472 ... which is the average. If you want statistical distribution, you count how many times a...

Re: Commander keywords

Yea... I don't think the newer commander model would fit into an orca(unless it was crawling), but then again, 32 XV8s wouldn't fit in either.

Re: Please Listen (specifically Mods)

I am not sure which regulations you would consider excessive. Common Carrier status basically means they have to ignore the traffic going over their network beyond basic traffic management. They can charge what they want, they can offer bandwidth plans how they want, as long as they don't restrict ...

Re: Please Listen (specifically Mods)

US ISPs have one of the weakest infrastructures in the modern world because they left the old copper networks in place for decades, and are basically demanding government funds to replace them with fiber. ...Maybe I hear this wrong somewhere, but haven't some large ISPs already gotten billions from...

Re: Heavy gun drones

a) Yea they can shoot anywhere. (Note that only Gun Drones have the target restriction, not all tactical drones.) b) You can, with how it's worded, the wounded first restriction only concerns wound allocation within the target unit. They're just too expensive for what they do, and they shoot ML at l...

Re: Chapter Approved Leaks Discussion

What they said. It's a common thing for players to whine that their faction is getting squatted when they don't get a new codex right away. We may be low on the totem pole in the meta right now, but that doesn't mean squatting. We'd probably see the loss of the Sisters of Battle or the Dark Eldar b...

It's transitive change, command points are worth more -> therefore having detachment with more command points is more advantageous.

Re: Mortal wounds timing

So quick dice would work as above, you roll all your hits with one gun type, roll all your wounds, oh look 2 mortal wounds, that kills a terminator. Now roll d3 damage twice and try and kill 2 more. Potential for 3 dead terminators. No, you allocate wounds, roll saves, inflict damage and remove mod...
