Re: An interesting application of Longstrike's hull shape and terrain.

I took a look inside the german rulebook. and here the wording is better to understand. 'Within' is better translated with words meaning 'inside'. So the sentence is meant like "a unit entirely on or entirely within any terrain feature".

Re: An interesting application of Longstrike's hull shape and terrain.

I think the question is, if the advanced terrain rules replace the general terrain and cover criteria from the core rules or if they are add to that rules.
If they replace the cover rules, it would make terrain rules solid again. If not we come to all these interpretation problems we have now.

Re: Tidewall and Embarked Models

:edit: got something wrong. You are right. AP-3 and better weapons di eliminate the "Tidewall Field" special rule. Because applying modifiers means in the new edition to actually turn the dice and therefore changing the actual diceroll itself instead of giving a result with the diceroll as...

Re: An interesting application of Longstrike's hull shape and terrain.

Hm... i also still disagree with the "within" part. For me the Tank touching the building is not within the terrain feature.

Here is my interpretation based on a side view instead on top, to make a bit more clear.

Re: Stimulant injector + sense of stone?

Hm... i still think, its problematic. With the 8th Edition we have to watch out because a wound is not the same as damage and wounds is also the word for the hitpoints of a model. So the question here is, if the SI ans SoS rules apply for the wound like in Step 3 in "4. Resolve Attacks" on...

Re: Tidewall and Embarked Models

Thats not quite right. Even if someone uses AP-3 weapons we can still throw for reflects because in 8th edition, modifiers apply after your roll. So we throw our save -> on a 6 it is reflected -> apply modifiers (6-3=3) -> check that modified save with the Sv value in the Dataslate (3 is not 4+) -> ...

Re: Stimulant injector + sense of stone?

Interesting. Stimulant Injector talking specifically about "suffers a wound" while Sense of Stone talking specifically about "suffers an unsaved wound" So the flowchart would be: get hit -> get wound -> check SI -> if SI fails roll Sv -> if Sv fails roll 'Sense of Stone' -> if So...

Re: 8th Ed FORGEWORLD Tau

Elphiel, are you perhaps thinking of the new AX-5-2 Barracuda, which has Cyclic Ion Blasters as potential replacements to the Long Barrel Burst Cannon? Because the Barracuda appears to have kept that option. Or was the new Tigershark rumored to have that option as well? I might have missed that. I ...

Re: 8th Ed FORGEWORLD Tau

What i think is a bit weird is, that in the new Tigershark Fighter-Bomber, the 14 gun drones are not included in the point cost anymore. No more 14 gundrone squads as a unit of tactical drones has a maximum of 12 models. Sure we can pick two squads but its still odd. Also we have to pay for them ext...

Re: 8th Ed Firesight Marksmen (without Sniper Drones)

Wrote about this in the Markerlight Discussion Topic already: With the one Markerlight way, the Firesight Marksman becomes an interesting choice. Being a single character model in the elite slot that gets a +2 safe in cover with 3 wounds makes him a cheap choice that is unlikely to be a main target ...
