Re: How can I buy?

Well, finally I could buy! A friend's sister had a french boyfriend (some years ago). I have him as Facebook friend, so I contact him, and he agreed to receive the models and then re-dispatch them to me. I'm very happy. The prices buying in Europe are very good, compared to the ones that we have. W...

Re: getting to five markerlights

Yeah, putting them in a Devilfish is basically low key reserves for Pathfinder. Just hope you don't roll too many 1s when it gets destroyed (I once lost half of my Breacher that way lol) and the problem is that if it doesn't get destroyed the turn you disembark you only hit on 5s so you'd need more...

Re: getting to five markerlights

There are only few ways to ensure having enough Markerlights after the initial alpha strike from your opponent: 1. Redundancy. Spam as many small Pathfinder units as possible and hope some of them survive. 2. Marker Drones that come in later with a Crisis unit. 3. Hiding Markerlights on Characters ...

getting to five markerlights

Something I've been thinking about for a while is how to consistently get to five markerlights on a target over more than one turn. Something we've repeatedly come across is loosing a squad of pathfinders or marker drones to a turn of dedicated bolter fire. I know that often times I've resigned myse...

Re: Why are the Tau hated?

A lot of this originated starting in 3rd and 4th edition, when I started playing Tau. From the beginning, the Tau have gotten a lot of flak for being a 'shooting solely' army. This sounds odd, considering Imperial Guard (aka Astra Militarum) existed, but even that army had to some extent decent mele...

Re: Tau Supremacy

As someone who's used the Supremacy Armour in 3 games now, I concur. It's firepower multiplied by it's survivability has meant that against opponents who I normally have a good challenge against I know simply destroy. It's very much been a game changer for our meta, as they have to ask whether or no...

Re: I'm replacing all my strike teams with breachers... on foot!

No I haven't tried that yet. I am put of by the inability to fire both the markerlight and a normal weapon and also the coin toss aspect of a single 4+ shot. When it comes to BS4+ lights (Pathfinders, Drones) I always fire 2 - 3 at the same time for that higher statistical chance of landing at leas...

Re: New Tigershark AX 1-0 Images

Where the AX-1-0 really shines is dealing with Baneblades. It's laughable how easily it kills one. Of course, they can shoot back now with relative ease compared to 7th ed ... Keep in mind, with the Tigershark, that this is probably the model you want to spend CP on. Make sure the target has 1 ML hi...

Re: Tiger-shark and Macro

This would be really cinematic! The Commander, on the ground, points dramatically toward the foe as the Tigershark roars overhead. "Go, plane!" That is some neat imagery. I was actually thinking about the tactical benefits of this, since the AX-1-0 has a rule that prevents it from being s...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Has anyone heard of any power level changes so far with the codex releases? The Eldar codex has had point cost reduction for a large majority of their units and weapons. So I would assume that the power levels have gone down as well. I did a quick look at this very question earlier today using the ...

Re: I'm replacing all my strike teams with breachers... on foot!

They take up space, hold objectives (Mealstorm of War style), inhibit enemy movement. Fast movement is important for those jobs. Therefore advancing. Therefore Assault weapons. If they land a couple of shots that's a nice bonus. These are all valid points. Not everything in our army has to be dedic...

Re: Tiger-shark and Macro

Unless of course you use Mont'ka on the Tigershark. In which case then it can "Advance and shoot as if it hadn't moved."

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Also, to be fair, Tau don't have set colors for their armour. Unlike Marines or Guard, the Tau change their colors for the terrain to get better camouflage. So with our army I've never felt at all bad about painting whatever color I want and being whatever sept I want. "Yes, we're from T'au. We...

Re: Hammerhead loadouts

The biggest issue is that we only have access to Seekers on expensive units which aren't exactly a competetive choice currently either (Hammerheads) or units with only BS4+ who also want to move (Devilfish&Piranha. Broadsides don't want to move but are too expensive anyway). Seeker missiles are...

Re: Stealth Suits and the EW Relic Mission

The only thing you'd really have to be careful about is a nurgling unit. They merely have to start outside of 12" of our deployment zone. As there are no other restrictions, they can start the game in melee with the stealth suits.

Cheers!

Re: I'm replacing all my strike teams with breachers... on foot!

Less so. There is no 'advancing' rule in 7th. And the AP in 7th means that the 10" profile is just a pulse carbine and the 5" profile can be negated by cover. Breachers are ok in 7th, but I think they really shine in 8th.

Cheers!
